If this has to go up for a vote of the people, that could be trouble. Bills that involve hunting/trapping in this state have historically not faired well.
The vast majority of Washington residents support legal hunting, per the annual WDFW survey of citizens here. It definitely has a chance to pass the ballot if it makes it to November. It also includes fishing which damn near everyone here supports. Also, there is already some bipartisan support within the legislature for this, it has a chance!

Email the senators who sponsored it and again after the election in November and if they're still holding the same office they will reintroduce it. It's very common for bills to take a couple years to move through the legislature. An off year from the presidential election probably has a better chance to pass the citizen vote anyway. Liberals love turning out to vote against Trump.
