Looking at Sitka waterfowl jackets..the dakota jacket, dakota hoody, duck oven. I read about them but all so similar. Does anyone have any personal experience?I think I'm looking at a mid season into late jacket. Fairly warm, wind/rain protective. They all seem similar other than duck oven may be really warm? Thx for thoughts.

I have the Hudson jacket. I’ve had it for 8 years and I love that thing. Very tough, warm and waterproof. Not overly warm, but paired with a puffy vest I’ve hunted down to quite cold temps comfortably. I wear it nearly every time out and when it finally needs replacing I’ll be getting another.

My brother has had a Dakota jacket for a few years. It looks to me to really just be a jetstream jacket with a couple of tweaks. I use a jetstream quite a bit when duck hunting as well. Great rain resistance and windblocking abilities. Just not offered in the marsh/timber camo- but the open country pattern blends super well in most areas I hunt. A great advantage they have over a lot of jackets is their warmth to bulk ratio. I really dislike bulky clothing for waterfowl hunting.

Dakota hoody isnprobably what you are looking for. Great at cutting wind. Midlayer warmth. Tough material. Water resistant so still need rain gear in a proper rain.

Duck oven is warm insulation layer and comfy. A little bulkier. Not waterprooof so, again, need rain gear.

Pair either of the above with the delta wading jacket and you are covered all season.

I’ve had the duck oven for 9 years now. Absolutely love that jacket. Fits great under waders. Like said above, pair it with the delta wading jacket and you won’t have too many days where you’re too miserable.

The Dakota hoody is my favorite waterfowling clothing item.
It is warm enough (maybe too warm at times), awesome at cutting wind. It is surprisingly water resistant as well.

Agreed with above. Love mine!

I just ordered he delta wading! Excited to use it. I’m just planning to layer underneath, this way I have my rain and wind protection, and can control warmth
