Kuiu or Sitka........

What do y'all prefer between the two?

Over the past 10 years, I have accumulated a ton of Sitka. Currently, I have 95% of the Whitetail line up and 90%-95% of the Waterfowl line up. Since purchasing all of that gear, my time spent in pursuit of either (Whitetail and Waterfowl) has dropped off exponentially. I am to the point of being too deep into training/testing/hunting GSPs. I will still get out here and there to chase Whitetail and Waterfowl. However, the vast majority of my time now is in the upland fields.

Having said that, I am looking at who has the best line up for training/testing and wing shooting. Right now, I believe it is Kuiu. I have yet to purchase a piece from them that I do not like. Their Kutana pants are about the best thing going (except for briars/thorns). I've also tried gear from Orvis (some of which I like but they have gone down the toilet the last 3-4 years) and Bean. For me, in my opinion I think I prefer Kuiu over Sitka. At least when it comes to everyday apparel. I may venture into some Whitetail pieces.

That being said, Sitka will be releasing a line up dedicated to wing shooting within the next year. However, what that will consist of remains to be seen. I will say, the fishing line up looks nice. However, I am dumbfounded that they failed to put hip vents on their newest and lightest pants.

Thoughts from the peanut gallery......,

I too have a lot of Sitka gear, mostly the whitetail stuff. I have also accumulated many pieces of Kuiu. For upland hunting look at their Guide pro jacket, it's wind resistant not proof but breathes pretty well and stretches nicely when trying to round up the dogs. It's been pretty durable for me and is offered in the brown and blaze orange two tone. And if you have a Gov X account you get 10% off.

My opinion is neither have very good outer layers for upland hunting.

Fjallraven vidda pro vent pants are the best upland or brush pants I have ever worn. Running my drahts for pheasants, grouse or rabbits, they are the best.

Filson jacket for top or when it is warmer in have a welding shirt I got from tractor supply for $25 that is awesome.

Both have very good base or mid layers.
