Kuiu or Sitka........

I bought the Kuiu Proximity set last year and havent been that disappointed in a piece of equipment in a long time, if ever.

I know it’s just one piece in a wide line up of stuff they have. But it really kind of soured me on Kuiu in general.

I’ve found that Kuiu is great when it comes to western mountain hunting but so far their whitetail stuff needs improving. The Proximity set can be a little delicate and tears easily. At this point I’m enjoying my Sitka Stratus set for whitetails and the Fanatic set for colder weather. I really like Kuiu stuff but its durability needs to improve. I’m not brand loyal so for me, I buy and use what I’ve found works the best and if a better option comes along I’ll try it.

Just me- but if I’m wing shooting I want a pair of pants that won’t make me think twice about walking anywhere - briars or not.

Just an observation, why is it that people are always complaining about the price of these higher end clothing companies. Wear what you like or can afford, but it makes me chuckle to myself when I hear someone compare their cotton camo from 20 years ago to these newer brands. I’ve been slowly accumulating pieces from Kuiu and Sitka because once you sit in 20 mph wins at 20 degrees in a Sitka Fanatic, there are very few comparable options out there that can compare. People see the advertised prices for this gear and spout off about the cost, but if you watch the sales and scour the forums for certain pieces you can get top quality gear for half price. It just makes me wonder why people feel the need to complain about the prices of this gear because if you’ve ever used it you can see why there’s a following. After all nobody was asking what the most cost effective clothing was out there.

I have lots of kuiu gear for western hunts but I don’t ever use it for bird hunting.

I would 100% not use attack pants. I used them one year for deer hunting in Missouri and I still can’t some of the stick tights out of them.
