He's asked me not to mention him. It's highly competitive between the three outfitters trying to turn up the biggest ram in the state.

To my knowledge, no one has killed at this point. The auction tag guys are paying big $$ just for scouting, and I'm sure looking all over the state. I'm curious to see what everyone kills.

If you look at the reports from the last few years, neither the auction tag nor the Silver State tag have won a buckle ( top 3 in the state).

It was an interesting process selecting a guide.

If you just want to go hunt sheep there are lots of outfitters that can do that.

Not as many have the desire to do this kind of hunt with all the scouting involved. I talked to some great guys and I'm sure all of them could have found a 170+ ram.

So far the process has been great. I really look forward to the updates on what they have found the previous week. Just waiting for that phone call telling me he found a next level ram.

Yeah, there's plenty of dudes (too many) that are only about killing and not into hunting. An infamous nationwide chain restaurant guy quickly comes to mind ......

Yes, this auction tag buyer is the same silver spoon fed casino magnate kid that has bought several recent auction tags. His dad used to buy them, now, the oldest boy does.

Hopefully Nevada follows course and nixes auction tags so we can stop seeing how many rams he has purchased.

What is your proposal to fill the revenue gap in its place?

Am I allowed to hate him and the auction process but also be appreciative of the funding it provides and how much he contributed to conservation? It is a point of concern though in where the money actually goes. Nevada says that the money goes to the species but I haven’t personally audited it. Also is it like the pot revenue where they say it goes to schools, and it does, but then they cut funding from other sources so the schools get the same amount.
