Has anyone tried 6.5mm through the SiCo 556 End Cap? If it’s truly 0.323 then for a 0.264 bullet you’d have approximately 0.03 of clearance all the way around.

From doing some reading, it seems most suppressors have a bore that is 0.06-0.08 larger than the projectile recommended, so shooting a 6.5mm (0.264) bullet would theoretically be okay.

Not sure I want to be the first to try it, but also would much prefer to 223 end cap over the 30 cal end cap if I could use it with my 6.5cm.
If I was going to try this I'd get one of the alignment rods or whatever they're called. I bet someone on here is willing to measure one for you. I'll have my .223 end cap in a week or 2 but it'll be a hanson, and the name brand one might have a different orifice. Hmm, now you have me wanting both measurements, because I'm like you, I want it as quiet as possible. Wish the 223 one was smaller actually, as I've switched to all .224 projectile cartridges...

I believe the diameter of both 223 caps has been posted in this thread. As I referenced, the SiCo 223 Titanium end cap measured at 0.323 inside diameter. I want to say the Hanson Bros 223 cap was more like 0.300 so a little smaller and likely too small for a 0.264 caliber bullet, though fine for a 0.243 bullet. I’ll see if I can find the post with exact size for Hanson Bros cap.

Edit: Found the post I was looking for, it’s actually 0.306 per the post I’ll quite below.

For anyone following along, I've been researching end-cap sizing for various calibers this morning. Diligent Defense Co seems to have the most straightforward approach I've found so far.

223 = 9/32 (0.281)
6.5 = 19/64 (0.297)
308 = 3/8 (0.375)

So similar to comments above, it would seem anything 0.300 or larger should be okay for a 6.5mm (0.264) bullet. The margin for error with the Si-Co cap at 0.323 makes me feel a bit less concerned compared to 0.303 of the Hanson Brothers, though in theory both should work for 6.5mm and are larger than other manufactures end caps or suppressors marketed as 6.5mm size.

Just got mine back from being repaired this past Saturday, they didn’t say anything about it. Just sent me a tracking number. Not even a note in the box saying what they did to repair it.

This makes perfect sense from a legal perspective.

How long did it take total turn around? Mine is supposed to arrive to them tomorrow.

Thanks for the list! I'm hoping that someone makes an aluminum version, as it would be much lighter and not stupid expensive. Erosion wouldn't be an issue for low volume use I figure. I use my Ultra 7 for practice now, and the scythe-ti for the backcountry

Just curious, what if any zero changes do you make between those two? That’s assuming you’re using them on the same gun.

Just picked up my scythe from my FFL and got home to find a 3 inch scratch down the side of it. What should I do? Call Silencer Co and see if they would fix it if or when I have to send it in for repairs? Or call Silencer Shop to see who or how it got scratched and if they can send a replacement. Not sure how easy that is with the ATF forms and serial number issue.

I would put a cover on it and go shoot.

Sucks to find that on a new product, but you can't really ask for a replacement on a suppressor.... I'd put a cover on it and shoot. They can touch it up when you send it back for failing! haha

Seems like an awesome can, just can't find it in stock locally.

Sounds like a good plan. They were out of stock at my FFL shop. But SilencerShop had it so I was able to buy it at my FFL shop and they got it from SilencerShop. They have a SilencerShop kiosk so I’m guessing they are somehow partnered with them.

I've got a Scythe in jail but I'm already interested to see what the new Scythe will be that Silencerco is going to release this month. It seems like a modular Scythe.
