Zeroed my rifle in today after getting it chopped and threaded and putting the scythe on it. Recoil is significantly reduced and the sound of course also. So far very happy. 18 inch 30-06

I’ll be interested how you get along. I’m probably going to get a banish backcountry before too long but I’m still hemming and hawing over it.

I have been eying the Scythe since it came out for my first suppressor. It was my number one choice to fit my hunting needs. Now there is a tiny bit of doubt....

Anyone have the Dead Air Nomand Ti XC. Or any thoughts on this one?

I chopped about 4 inches of barrel and lost 110-120 fps, somewhere in there. FYI. I might try get some of that back with my load, not sure yet.

I have an original DeadAir Nomad Ti, and I love it. I don't have a ton of experience with cans, but the last couple times I've been to the range with other guys that have them, I typically get "Damn, that thing is quiet. Which one is that?".

I just took 2” off my ‘06 and took it down to 20”. I haven’t shot it yet to know what I lost.

I handled both at a local shop, got the XC in sniper gray on order now. Damn thing is pretty legit. I was previously planning to get the Scythe or Backcountry.

Yeah I have one I've been using a lot lately. It preforms better than the scythe. But at a weight and length penalty.

What mounting systems are you using that would create such a difference for it to be considered a penalty?
When I say penalty, all I mean is that it is more than the alternative option.
If I remember correctly the nomad XC is 1.5 ounces heavier. I did a comparison in this thread.

Agree, SiCo needs to say something. Anyone researching the scythe will undoubtedly see Rokslide pop and probably find this thread or the failure thread since “failure” is in the title.

Many times not saying anything is worse. Who knows though, maybe they are researching the failures and aren’t sure on what’s going on yet, idk. What I do know is there are/were people wanting to pull the trigger on a scythe but are now looking elsewhere or waiting, I’m one of them.
SiCo isn’t afraid to change barrel length restrictions. They changed the Harvester Evo 5.56 barrel length from 10.5” to 16” after they printed all of their product information and initial advertising. I think it would be a bigger deal to set barrel length restrictions on the Scythe because that is what made it so appealing.

Ultimately it will be a financial decision. Does the repair costs for failed Scythes project to be more than the anticipated loss of sales for a Scythe with barrel length restrictions?

It reminds me of the job Edward Norton’s character has in Fight Club where he evaluates fatal car crashes to see if the costs of a recall are greater than those of paying out the lawsuits.
