I recently did a pile of research comparing the two, and in another thread about direct comparisons via "bro science", the 6ix has also had a few reported failures, and ranked on the low end of the group in terms of sound suppression.
Neither are ranked high in terms of sound suppression, right? They’re both in that small/light/decent suppression category is what I thought. I think Hyperion K is a touch heavier but offers more suppression. Ya tough to decide for a first can if you’re not really planning to buy a bunch.

Yeah, but within that group there seems to be a pretty noticeable difference in suppression with the volume difference between say a 1.5"x6" and a 1.7"x6.5". Baffle design and end caps can also effect the tone of the shot. I've been very impressed with my Nomad Ti, but I fell victim to what the wise ones have said, and now I want at least 2 more.. lol!

The Scythe-ti is pretty good on suppression in my opinion. At least the equal of the Hyperion K (though the K has always been on a gun with more powder capacity when I've heard it next to a Scythe-Ti) and very close to an AB Raptor 8. Close enough I would not want to make a better on which of the three was best on a Db reduction measurement.

None of my comparisons have been very intentional in nature though.

Yeah concur I would call the scythe “good” in comparison. There isn’t a ton of actual data (tbac summit, pewscience last I checked). But a lot of first hand comparisons reported here (including my own) have the scythe neck and neck with a lot of 7” cans. So saying it’s the best for suppression would likely fall short of many of the 8-9” cans but IMO it’s by far the best at sub 6” and holds its own well with anything 7” and under. And it’s lighter than almost all those as well.

Edit: when the front half blows off it’s even lighter too!

Was dead set on a Scythe until the recent occurrences.. so now Diligent Defense Enticer S Ti, Banish Backcountry, or another DeadAir seems to be the current list of options. As another member said previously I'd like to stick with a reputable brand in hopes of future support if needed, but I also just learned about Ecco machine that will fix them up, so the Jolene S from Resilient might be included. I'd just like SiCo to address if it was something like a weld alignment issue, or if there needs to be an update.

Agree, SiCo needs to say something. Anyone researching the scythe will undoubtedly see Rokslide pop and probably find this thread or the failure thread since “failure” is in the title.

Many times not saying anything is worse. Who knows though, maybe they are researching the failures and aren’t sure on what’s going on yet, idk. What I do know is there are/were people wanting to pull the trigger on a scythe but are now looking elsewhere or waiting, I’m one of them.
