If suppressors are removed from NFA regulations, I'll be looking to buy a used scythe. I've got a 223 it should be able to handle

Depending on price and what happens to market availability/pricing, id take another for cheap as well. If someone wants to sell me a scythe for $400, i'd probably take it.

Mine has about 800rnds on it now.

Few hundred rounds of 22” 6.5prc and all good so far. After reading this thread slightly worried bout my hunting buddy who setup a 20” 7prc with a scythe after shooting his bull with my rifle last year. He has yet to get out and shoot it.

Well, this is the response I got. Mine has never had more than a round or two a minute put through it, and usually it was allowed to cool enough to touch between firings, so heat definitely is not the issue.

That's so ridiculous. The same exact response several other (including me) have received. I even referenced this thread and told them that no one here is attaching it to an AR and misusing it. They had no response to that other than "I can't speak to those failures because I have no knowledge of them" or something to that effect

I have only ever used my Scythe on a bolt action and have never exceeded 3 rounds per minute (I have only fired ~25 rounds through it so far), but don’t recall seeing a 10-round per minute limitation when I purchased my Scythe.

The legal recourse would have to be for an injury (whether physical, financial, emotional, etc.) suffered from as a result of the failure. And potentially there could be damages caused by the loss of use of the device.

The response letter does not read as if it was written by corporate legal. It reads as if it was written by some sales jackass who isn’t very good at customer service and doesn’t understand tort or products liability law. It’s fundamentally an infuriating attempt to reassure the consumer. No [good] lawyer would write such a thing.

Yeah I’m not sure. But they are asking for trouble by giving that response to people who’s suppressor has blown apart 2 ft in front of their face and not acknowledging the risk, which is greater than what should be considered normal for a failure rate of such an item.

If it can be proven they knew of an issue causing blow ups and intentionally... suppressed it.... and somebody gets hurt as a result then I'd imagine there could be some liability.

I’d argue that element is already there. Clearly a failure rate and denial of a problem. Negligence on their part would be tough to prove but folks are letting them know of the problem.

Yes some things can have a 1% failure rate. But not things like these or guns, or airplanes, or items that failure could result in death more quickly than a normal item.

I’ve been hitting the mountains the last ~ 5 days to work on shooting positions, angles and all that stuff to hit rocks out to ~ 600 yards with my 6.5 creedmoor.

I got the scythe so hot today that it melted my ls Wild cover to the silencer. I’m sort of trying to make it fail but so far it hasn’t.
