There doesn’t seem to be a predictable pattern as to when these fail. My original plan may be a waste of ammo. It may be best to just know where my POI is without a suppressor in the event of a failure in the field
I think only one person has had the same suppressor fail twice, same weld both times. The other person had two separate scythes fail. Those with double failure, is it the same weld that is failing? Or a second weld? Trying to find out if the same time frame of production is the consistent factor.
Mine failed at different welds. Post 522Every failure I have seen pictures of has been the same weld, although mine had two welds fail.
I missed your failure. That was impressive.Mine failed at different welds. Post 522
I'm leaning to this not being nearly as big of a problem as I initially thought. Still BS that it's happening, but I'd imagine the actual failure rate is less than 1%. This thread is very popular and shows up #1 on search results. Over 2k rounds on mine and counting. Maybe putting it on my 22" 300 will speed up the process.
I doubt 1% have failed. Most people dont shoot much. Lot of cans out there with a couple boxes of ammo through them.If I were a betting man, I'd be betting higher than 1% failure
I didn't bother typing it out but that is what crossed my mind. Most people dont shoot much. Lot of cans out there with a couple boxes of ammo through them.
Sierra 5?I can’t even think of another suppressor that has had this many catastrophic failures documented.
I'd bet there's multiple thousands that are in a safe unfired or test fired with half a box and put away.I doubt 1% have failed. Most people dont shoot much. Lot of cans out there with a couple boxes of ammo through them.
I'd bet that over 1% would fail if people shot 500 rounds of magnum ammo through them annually though.
I'd bet there's multiple thousands that are in a safe unfired or test fired with half a box and put away.
I don’t think those were blowing in half. And dead air eventually admitted to a problem with them.Sierra 5?
If you mean rapid structural deconstruction then maybe not. If you mean they completely failed and became unusable then I'd say the Sierra 5 debacle was a bigger failure.I don’t think those were blowing in half. And dead air eventually admitted to a problem with them.
We are looking at 20 plus catastrophic failures from a fairly small user group.
I’d also agree that I bet most sold get shot less than 50 times a year.
