That’s interesting, when I go upstairs I’ll pull the cover off mine and see if I can tell if there’s a two tone thing going on. I havnt noticed it in the past.I don’t know what coatings they use. So ignore my jargon.
Initially there was a consistent tan color can for the first 6 or so months that I saw in store(a couple stores and photos, not a ton of data), the can I received was/is get dark almost not coated/treated in blast chamber then baffles change to the tan. 4 months later I see in store ones that are very dark throughout, more of a raw heat treated titanium no treat/coating.
I am basing off new. Mine hasn’t changed colors. I do weld often but not titanium. It’s not a heat deal it’s something with their coatings and I did get concerned when I started seeing changes. Then noticed the two tone… newer don’t seem to be blowing apart and the initial cans don’t either. I’ll send mine to someone with a 16” 300 to see but I know with my calibers it shouldn’t fail. The a-10 ss can won’t I guarantee with how many rounds I’ve put through it, and it’s newer I just like the weight and sound on that gun. A longer I might ponder the new OG
