SilencerCo Scythe Ti failures

Scythe Ti owners: Have you had a Scythe Ti catastrophic failure?

I am wondering if this 10 shots per minute limit that they're telling people (me included) is a firing rate that should be adhered to per shot, ie 6 seconds per shot. So if a guy shoots 3-5 shots rapidly with a bolt gun in a training scenario, and does it frequently even though letting it cool between volleys... Maybe that would be causing it IF the failure mode really is heat related.

I doubt that is the case. If it is, maybe I'll blow it up with my 223 sometime this year

Do you have any knowledge based on that project about if/how 3D printed cans can be repaired if needed? Not suggesting the UM project will need such a thing, just curious if you have any insight on the general topic based on peripheral exposure to the manufacturing and development?
Destroy and hit print:) ... I don't know that's above my pay grade, I'm just on the demo team.

My scythe ti failed at the second weld this weekend and I overnighted it to silencerco after filling out the return auth. They received it yesterday and FedEx notified me I have a package coming from them today. I hope it’s good as new, wonder if they will replace the cover too? My rifle is a 20” barrel 7PRC, and the can has about 100 rounds through it. Amazingly it did not affect my 200yd three shot group. Scared the bejesus outta me and my spotter (wife)

I sent a lengthy email to them. I was re-assured that it is less than a 1% failure rate. They also said no more than 10 shots in a minute is their recommendation. Basically stating that most or all failures are user error. Oof. Not sure how to take that. I asked if they would make a public statement of acknowledgement? Sounds like no. I'm going to keep shooting mine and hope for the best!
I can't find 10 rounds per minute in the manual, or on their site, cannot even find a firing schedule. But, basically they admit to making a toy that is unfit for use on a bolt gun by anyone who practices. Then failing to specify how toy like it is, so it is the users fault for assuming it was not a toy.

Pathetic joke, sadly joke is on me as I gave them my money.

Interesting that 10 shots per minute is what they described as allowable. When I spoke to them while I waited for my f4 to clear, I was told mag dumps on the AR were ok but to let it cool between mags.

Don’t know about yall but mag dumping an AR to me is 30 rounds in much quicker than 60 seconds.

Regardless, I did it and it survived the sbr.

This problem of ours is SOO easy to solve.

1) we all chop our magnums to 10” or so.
2) get about a dozen of us to link up
3) the one dude who refused to ruin his magnum tikka takes the video
4) on count of three we all blow up our no length restriction scythes on video.
5) they finally admit there’s an issue.

Edit: man that sounds like it will hurt…maybe this idea isn’t too good.

I have a couple hundred rounds through mine ranging from a 6 BR up through a 30 Nosler +P and haven't blown it up... yet. Now I'm paranoid.
