SilencerCo Scythe Ti failures

While I didn’t provide a no vote, I was aware of this thread for several weeks before my Scythe failed. I didn’t seek it out because of the failure. For my use and desires, the Scythe is the ultimate suppressor. I am very bummed about its failure and not sure I can get back to being confident in it. I hope I do though.

I’ll have zero confidence in this can after they repair it. I have an extremely long and remote AK float hunt coming up in 2027 and I can tell you this can will not be on that trip. I may build a .223 trainer and if I keep this can I’ll most likely put it on that, but I’ll be switching to something else for the .300.

It would be hard for me to believe anyone reading this thread that they still has a Scythe Ti on their list of wanted suppressors

Their performance in suppressing sound, combined with a such a lightweight and compact package put them in a clear lead for what I was looking in a suppressor. I'm sure glad I stumbled onto this thread before spending my money and I really sympathize with the folks that have thad their cans fail

My sympathies aren't with the people who have silencers that failed, those seem to be getting fixed quickly, with no questions.

My sympathy lies with the folks who saved and stretched their budgets to get their first silencer and are now dealing with this. That just sucks, lots of people out there can't afford multiple silencers.

yeah its not something I'd take on a hunt like that.

They told me “It’s ok IF you REALLY can’t find it, but if you can find it that would be best. However as long as you have the part that has the serial number, we can work with that.”

One way to look at that is that they REALLY want examples of failed parts in their possession in case there was a lawsuit.

Nomad Ti XC for a hair longer and hardly any to zero difference in weight (~9oz).

I don’t regret my scythe and still plan to shoot it as is with my 16-18” barreled rifles, but when my friends ask about which titanium suppressor to get, the xc is the one I direct them to.

Which to me says a lot after the way they fumbled the Sierra 5 issues.

So keep the front piece and tell them you couldn't find it.

Relegated to my .223 REM and 6XC can only.

Same story they’ve told everyone here who has called in the last 6 months.

I saw this on Bauer’s Instagram this evening and im assuming this is a brand new can, not a fixed blown up can. They have definitely changed something on them as the finish looks different beyond the blast chamber.

It’s not even worth calling them. I do wonder how many of these are out in the wild. I wonder if they know about this thread.

They know. I was likely one of the first to call a long time ago. I called because I really like the suppressor and asked them to come up comms on the thread to let us know what the issue was.

They said they’d look into the thread but there isn’t an issue….they’ve sold xxxx blablabla.

I suppose it’s possible but it would be great if they would actually address this thread. So far though, they havnt seemed to care.

Mine looks like that. Assumed it was the different Ti grades taking the finish differently.

I have an earlier S/N - on the fence if I keep it on the 7mm mag and wait for the inevitable, or move it to a lower powered rifle (though seeming 6.5s causing issues now too). Hate to have this as a 300BLK can as it seems overkill for that, but...
Wish SiCo would just fix it prior to inadvertent disassembly. Was the first can I purchased and started me down the rabbit hole (up to 5 at the moment, more to come I am sure)

I have over 3000 rounds on mine. Most of the shots are from a .223, but it has over 500 shots from a 20" 6UM, another 50ish from a 16.5" 6UM, and 300ish from a 20" 6.5 PRC.

I now have over 5,000 on mine (mostly .223), but this thread definitely has me nervous. I don't think I would put this can on a hunting rifle now.

No failure from mine yet…18” 6cm shooting factory 108’s. But I am nervous.
Plan to switch to an UM OTB when they come out and move the Scythe to a .223 for some peace o’ mind.

What if we treat it like chicken pox?

We can get all the Roksliders together and go thru our Scythes with a case 300 PRC ammo and save on return shipping to the Warranty department.

This plan assumes the reworked cans are good to go.

Mine is going to have to live on a bolt action .223/5.56 and even then probably not going to let my grands shoot it. Besides being dirty, I’m beginning to wonder how it would do on a 17 HMR. This sucks.
