Sig Sauer P320 Issues

The sig 320 firing without input has been demonstrated many, many times in the past few years. I’ve seen video of a police officer from my state searching a car and his holstered sig firing. What’s causing it, I don’t know, but you don’t see or hear of glocks doing it.

I've seen several of those as well. Like you, I don't know what's causing it either, and have no idea what's going on with the triggers when it does happen.

Maybe a better way to say it is that it's not being replicated and not being explained in these same pistols after the fact. A partially pulled trigger could explain it. I agree though, it certainly seems to be a 320 thing when it's happening.

I believe the FCU in the xTen and the 9 are the same. I have both.

I’m going to move one of my P320s and keep the other hoping Sig offers something.

I went to Scheels in Overland Park, KS tonight and asked for a trade value for my P320 XTen. I was immediately told that it would be a low offer due to the "issues going on." While they were looking at my gun I looked in the new and used cases. There were new 9 and 10mm P320's for sale at full MSRP and there were a bunch (10-12) used P320 9mm's (for $399) but no 10's. They came back with an offer...$175 cash or $200 in trade. He also said that I could check back in 30 days and I could possibly get up to $500 in trade. He made it sound like Sig is working on a fix?!? This seemed counter to the media we've discussed/seen where they (Sig) are pretty much denying the issue, so who knows?

I just put a Brower 1811 grip on my M18 and it shoots so well. I used to carry it in the woods but I switched to carrying the P365 when I caught wind of this issue about a year ago. Strictly a range and home defense gun now.

From what I've gathered, it's an issue that effects all models of the P320. Regardless of manual safety or not.

According to a YT video I watched today the FBI was unable to replicate the uncommanded discharge when the manual safety was engaged. Without it engaged it was the same as the models without that feature.

I can't find any law suits that Sig has lost. No one has definitively found the issue. I have not seen a creditable video of someone making a Sig fire out side of a holster, that the pistol hasn't been modified. This reminds me of the Remington trigger fiasco of yesteryear. I have 2, 320's and hope they get this crap figured out soon.

These are not the only ones I found in a simple google search that took 0.00432 seconds.

The article says that Sig is 60/40 on winning the lawsuits. Which means that they are losing 40% of them.
One lawsuit cited above in Pennsylvania was $11 Million for one judgement.
The FBI very clearly stated in their letter what the problem was vis a vie the Washignton State LEO case where it went off in a holster with several witnesses present. It was an unmodified pistol. The 320 that killed the airman this year was also unmodified and sitting on a table in a holster.

Sig had issues before with discharging if dropped/falling obviously thats why there was the voluntary trigger replacement.

That was due to a light trigger pull and the trigger having too much mass, and the pistol had to hit the ground just right on the back of the slide, not a big deal in my opinion, but I don’t recall hearing of holster firing issues before the trigger recall/repair. I wonder if the fix for one issue caused the other.

Fwiw, I’ve decided to relegate my 320s to be positioned where having them available in condition 3 is sufficient, and maybe to shoot them at the range (assuming my range still permits them - a reminder that I need to check). Maybe things will change.

Finally decided to google what condition 3 means haha. I've always known it as Israeli.
