Sig Cross

I had one of the first 308's, sent it in for the original recall. Ran good, was a little heavier than I expected. Took awhile to work a load up for it . (suppressed) tight chamber. Once I found the sweet spot it was a good shooter. Good friend has it now and really likes it. My folder was tight, not much slop.

I have one in 308. I do not have the hinge slop some people experience, the trigger works, very adjustable, runs like a dream, handy length, lightish, and shoots very accurately when I do my job. For the money, it is a FANTASTIC package.

If I'm grabbing one gun out of the safe to go practice with, it gets more trigger time than anything else.

I bought one in 6.5 CM a little over 2 years ago. Cool little rig, and the intent was to have an adjustable stocked, suppressed rifle for the kids. In short order, my boy got as tall as I am shoots everything with a 300 WM, and my daughter isn't a fan of the AR/Chassis style. So while it is a cool little shooter, and would've served its intended purpose well, it doesn't see any action and it's for sale.

I've been looking at a few of them at stores. The folding stock was solid on most but I came across one that had a little play in it. Definitely something to check on before you buy. I'm holding out for now until Sig allows these to be put on sale.

Anyone have any info or experience on the +P bolt head that Sig is selling for the Cross and why it'd be needed for hot loads?

I've been meaning to call Sig, and will reply here if I get any useful feedback from them on it.

The Cross has been a great rifle for our family. I have a custom rifle I’ll use when I’m solo, but with kids, the tool-less LOP and cheek rest have been extremely handy. My brother and I both have them in 6.5 creedmoor, both have been extremely accurate once you get a load dialed in.

Getting over 2,600 with the 143 eld-x and h4350. Love the shorter tapered barrel too with a CGS Hyperion and folding stock, it’s turned into our go anywhere hunt anything family rifle. They’re slick.

Looks like the SIG Cross in 6.5 PRC is about to be on the menu!
I reached out to SIG to ask whether it’ll use the small or long action, and they confirmed it’ll be in the small action...which is great news.

I also asked if they plan to sell barrels and bolt heads separately (figuring they probably wouldn’t give a straight answer), and they told me to keep an eye on their product news page for updates.

I’m not sure if SIG had to change anything on the short action Cross to fit a magnum bolt face, but if not, this could open the door to chamberings like .300 WSM or 7 SAUM...which would be amazing.

Personally, I’d rather see them create a .308 SIG Fury or have Federal come out with a .308 BC in short action...that way I could skip barrel swaps altogether. One can dream!

I bought one for the kids in 6.5 creed.
The trigger has taken some getting used to because I'm a single stage guy. You can't single feed it. Every round has to come from the mag.
I love the adjustability on the fly. It's arca and suppressor ready out of the box.

That being said I think I'd just built a Tikka for the same price if I had to do it again. It'd be lighter.

Mine single feeds no problem.

I'll have to try it again.

I did take it out past a thousand for the first time yesterday. Not sure why the math wasn't mathing in 4Dof. I was golden out to 600-750 yards.
But trying to hit a rock at 1150 I was 10 feet low. Added a few mills and was getting hits. Warm up was an moa sized rock at 600. Was able to hit it consistently. Sitting off the tripod.

Definitely an accurate rifle.

I’m just about sold on a cross in 6.5 CM. Been eyeing the Sawtooth version with a Proof. Just need to find one to handle the trigger (Scheels has locks on all of them).

If they had a 6.5/7 PRC version with a steel barrel id have already bought one. I still often think about getting one in either 308 or 6.5 but between my 6 arc and .270 I cant really find a role for it thats not already being filled. 7 prc/6.5 prc would make it easier to find that role though
