Cross is a great rifle. I went with the 18” 6.5 Creed in the Sawtooth. Very happy with the results so far. Haven’t even loaded for it since it does so well with factory ammo.

What is mechanically different or improved between the sawtooth and the regular cross? And specifically, what issues are you referring to with the regular cross? There are two tiers of the Sig Cross. The Sawtooth is a legitimate rifle in its class.
The regular Sig Cross is a hunk of shit. With boatloads of issues on many guns. Too many lemons.
You’re probably looking at the latter. I’d get a Tikka.
AAC 140s: high 2400 to low 2500
Gunwerks 147: low to mid 2500
Gunwerks 127: mid 2600
I have a standard cross. I get about 2475 out the Hornady 147 ELDM ammo, and 2825 out of the Superformance 129 SST ammo. I’m pretty happy with that from an 18” barrel.
Good stuff. Where does that take you to 1800 fps? 450 ish?

That’s good for sure. Where does that take you to 1800 fps?

Interesting. What did they change in the receiver? How is it different? I can't find any marketing suggesting that it's much improved over the standard cross. The receivers and barrels are much improved in the Sawtooth. It’s essentially a different rifle.
The standard cross is trying to be a tacti-cool hunting rifle / target rifle hybrid. It fails at both as a result.
I’ve also heard about bad barrels and I just chalk that up to Sig being Sig.
