Sig Cross Sling Solutions?

Wondering what you guys are running for a rifle sling for your Sig Cross or similar chassis gun. Post ‘‘em up, if you would be so kind!

I don’t have it completely figured out yet, but this is what I’m going to try. My rifle isn’t set up yet, but will be by the time the season kicks off.

I have a Blue Force Gear padded Vickers sling with QD swivels on both end of the sling.

I moved the QD socket on the Cross Rifle to the other side (opposite of the bolt) so I could run it with the stock extended and the bolt isn‘t in my back or side while carrying it slung. The other advantage to it on that side is if the stock is folded, it still allows for the sling to be fully attached.

I put some Magpul MLOK QD swivel mounts on both sides if the hand guard. This way all I have to do is move one QD swivel on the sling and reconnect on either side of the hand guard depending on if the stock is folded or not. I don’t plan on shoulder slinging the rifle with the stock folded, but when I strap it to a pack, I want the sling fully attached to the rifle and secured.

Probably a bit of overkill on my part, but this Is how I’ve set up the sling so far. The sling itself is really lightweight, well padded, and adjustable with one hand while slung with the friction slider. I use Blue Force Gear slings on all of my AR’s so they are familiar and really are outstanding in quality and design. Added plus is that they are made in the USA! But ANY sling will work and you can put QD swivels on your sling of choice.

I use the exact same sling on my hunting rifles.

I do the same setup but configure it to run muzzle down. The two point adjustable allows you to tighten it up on the body for climbing or to get a little stability off hand. The Blue Force guys are good people.

Will likely do the same QD system on both sides but with an FHF Sling, as I run them on my other rifles and the pack attachment is a game changer.

My new Grayboe stock is going to have flush cups. Consequently, I have been mulling over how to do a lightweight, comfortable sling with the flush cups. Thanks for some ideas.

Same idea I just used the off the shelf mdt adjustable sling. It tightens up for front carry and just pulling on the slide it lengthens enough to shoulder fire.

I am running a Magpul RSL sling, with Q Sling Devils. I wanted a lightweight setup that was easily detachable. But 550 cord with a bow knot would be just as good. I don’t like how noisy sling swivels are. I removed the sling stud pocket from the stock of my Cross, and have the sling attached at that hole for the rear, and halfway up my handguard for the front.

I like the gun a lot. I have owned it for a year. It's not perfect though. When in battery, the bolt handle lifts too easily IMO. I often still hunt through brush, so it would be better with a 3-position safety. Also, the trigger is good, but could be better. My particular gun has just the slightest bit of trigger creep, whereas I have played with others in store, and some have no creep whatsoever. Also, my gun averages 1.5 MOA (.308), which is fine for Eastern whitetail, but I definitely would want better for shots past 300 yards.

I bought a cross in 6.5 cm last march and it was shooting horrible (3-4 moa) with Hornady and nosler factory ammo. Got a reloading setup to try to cure my lemon and got it down to sub .5” 5 shot groups at 100 yds with an SD of 7. Had to get MDT metal mags to fit the longer seated bullets (2.875 OAL eldx) but now it is a very capable long range gun. Very happy it worked out and I highly recommend the gun
