Sierra 116 TMK Load Data

Anxiously awaiting my Tikka 6 creed from UM. To pass the time I have been reading all the posts and now Sierra’s load data. When it arrives, I think I will chop it to 18” and from what others are posting, it should be getting 2750fps with the 116 TMK at max load. Has anyone chopped one yet?

I’m getting 2708 with H4350 out of a 16” PBB, 7.5 tw.

I could push it a bit harder, as I don’t have any pressure signs even in 95 degree conditions, but I prefer the better safety margin.

Another question to those with Tikka actions,

Thanks for the fast reply, that’s great news. I’ve considered going to 16.5” but am a bit nervous if the factory barrel is slower. Once it is shot out, I plan to go PBB.

For those using Tikka actions for 6CM with the m+ mags, have you found increased accuracy loading these bullets out to a COL 2.90”? Sierra data uses 2.78”. My other Tikkas have long jumps to the factory barrel rifling.

I had no accuracy difference between a .030 and .090 jump. Both shot great. I believe I was at 2.88” and 2.82”

2.850 was the happy place for mine

Since I’m new to the 6 CM, do many of you choose the N555 powder over H4350 for the 116 and for that matter the 108 eldm? From what I see in the Sierra load data, it could be faster at lower pressure. Most of the data on this thread seems to be H4350 as the gold standard.

Try H1000 46.0 gave me good groups and speed

Typically N555 is my preferred choice but my choice doesn’t matter it’s what works best during load development and with the 116s H4350 was the winner.
