I'm getting 2725 with Lapua brass, 41gr H4350, 108eldm. 17"

Are your shooting in a fresh barrel? I’m not questioning your data in any way I was just going to compare my mv @41 grains to see how much I would loose I was considering cutting mine down as well bud I don’t know if I’d like to loose that much speed. Not sure if you care but I have over 200 rds on this barrel and my mv was 2964 @ 41gr. Thanks

I shot a 25rd group over a Garmin Xero chrono for my data. I have 250rds down the barrel. Hodgdon data says 41.1gr of H4350 should get 3015fps in a 24" barrel with Win brass. I figured Lapua has a bit less capacity? I also figured a 7" shorter barrel should lose about 175fps. So maybe it is shooting a bit slow?

How much? What chrono? That's 150fps faster than my 22" at 41.3 h4350.

Sorry I should have stated first that I crono’d in the 3000-3030 range and when I verified at distance it calibrated my rangefinder to 3090. I would like to use a garmin to verify a little better but I guess at the end of the day my mv doesnt matter to me as long as the data is correct and I hit targets at distance. Something as simple as being off 0.1 mil on my zero could change things. I was using the magneto-speed for the record. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

6cm 505yd 10in plate

Measured gusty 3-16mph winds at shooter, right to left slighly quarter to, variable holds .2 to 1.2 mil depending on how the wind felt.

9/10 hits, sent one just off right edge holding 1mil for a heavy gust that went calm right when the shot broke

Did a little data collection on my first batch of 147 eldm hand loads today. Rifle was still zeroed for the factory 143 eldx loads I was shooting previously.

That is a 30rd group from my factory 20” CTR. Ballistic x only allows me to record 10 shots but I measured the group at 1.3175moa with calipers. Either way this thing certainly feels like the easy button!

Dang that's some fine loading.

What size sticky dot is that? Looking some smaller ones myself for the higher mag scopes, but have only seen 2” and 1.5” near me in stores (which works for most things quite well) just curious.

This is what I have

Three 10 round groups today with one from a few weeks back for comparison.

I'm interested in what you guys would do for adjusting and calling zero good. Both Tikkas with SWFA scopes.

On the left is 77 TMK with Sta-ball match.

The very left is 10 rounds with 24.5 gr of match from a few weeks back. Today I was shooting 24.4gr (from a uniflow powder measure) I adjusted .2R and shot the top left group. Then I adjusted .2L and shot the 3 round "group" below it. Those 3 rounds were leftover from a ladder and were 23, 23.5 and 24.0g I believe. I'm thinking I should just go back .1R and call it good there?

On the right is 2 groups from the 6.5 CM with 147 ELD-Ms (better pic below). I shot the left group with 41.5gr H4350 then adjusted Right .3 and down .2 and shot the right group with 41gr H4350.

Looks like I should come back up .1 mil for my zero?

If I overlay them and account for the adjustment my best guess is all 20 rounds fall in about 1.75" diameter group or so?

In regards to your 6.5 Creed groups, I was doing a little ‘chasing my own tail’ over .1 mil, just like this (similar shot pattern just below POA too ironically) with my 260 w/ same bullet recently and based on my quick test at 330 yards immediately afterwards, in your case I think I’d leave the 6.5’s zero alone and go shoot it at 300-600 yards (in stable conditions) as best you can to see how that goes/if your expected drop data correlates with how it should assuming your zero is good now.

Seeing similar situation as what you have here after three 10 round groups told me two answers .1 mil apart, adjusting zero up .1 mil, I went to shooting clays at 330ish yards and found I was .1 mil high at that distance (correction informed by Garmin Xero and iStrelok). Put it back down .1 mil, and started smoking every clay with boring (and fun) regularity. Since .1 mil is well within shooter/aiming error I figured it’s just as likely my input shot to shot having having that low impact effect sometimes as it is the zero being slightly off. Still need to true my velocity at long range so this exercise isn’t perfect, but I think more data is required to tune out an increment as small as .1 mil when you’re that close. My thought is even if my chrono is off by a bit after lots of recorded data (all of it would have to be wrong) at 330 yards the velocity would have to be off quite a bit (and regularly) to show that .1 mil difference (high) like it did. Further distance might actually confuse things too much due to added time/distant for things to effect impact?

In summary, I think I’d call it good for zero on 6.5, and rock and roll until you have more trigger time at further distance to confirm/deny your current zero setting. Or just shoot more groups at 100 to confirm without adjusting scope. But that’s just my 2 pennies after overthinking it a bit!

I have a little notebook for each of my rifles and every time I shoot a group of 10rds or whatever I keep track of what my BallisticX app says I need to adjust the center of my group. My groups are frequently off by .1 or .2 mils in whatever random direction. In my opinion this just validates the idea that a ten round group probably isn't a big enough sample for a solid zero. Maybe keep track and see if a pattern of needing to adjust zero shows itself?

With the creed I would have moved R .2, D .1from the first group
The second group shows much more dispersion, possibly due to barrel mirage?
I would take less notice of it
I would come L .1, U .1

Got a new T3x, swapped scopes with my T1x, and quickly sighted both in at 50 yards. Two 10-shot groups with AAC 75 gr. BTHP. Looking forward to repeating at 100 yards on my next trip to the range.

13 shot zero check from today. The one outside the circle at 3:30 was shooter error. My only gripe is the 2600fps speed from the Tikka after I chopped the barrel a couple of inches.

19 inches measured from the end of the chamber/lands )or 18” if you measure from where it screws into the action), plus the suppressor. Box speeds are 2700. I was hoping to get closer to 2650, but I know Tikka 6.5CMs are notoriously slow as well.

So I'm guessing it would be 20"ish from the bolt face, measured similarly to how Tikka measures the length. I think they do it from bolt face/breech of chamber.
