Been working with a new barrel on my switch barrel tikka. It's an 8 twist 223ai and now has a little over 200rds down it. Been having some inconsistent results the last couple times out with it but today's session was respectable at 100yds. It wants to shoot bugholes clearly.

At 200yds however I shot my best ever 10rd group. It ended up at .399 moa.

Shot prone off my backpack and home made rear bag. 14x on an old school nxs 5.5-22x50 npr2 ret. Screw it maybe I'll just shoot at 200 lol

Tikka T3X stainless cut and threaded to 18”. Silencerco Hybrid 46 toning it down. Nightforce SHV 3-10 MOAR in UM low 30mm rings. Ebay ceracoated factory stock I opened the barrel channel up on and bolted on an Outdoorsman’s pic rail to attach an MDT Ground Pod bipod. Vertical grip is off being color matched to the stock. Hornady Match 75 gr BTHPs off the shelf. 77 TMKs print within a half inch of those at 100.

T3x 243 1:8 chopped down to 20" with a sig SRD762 can on the end, dropped in a stocky's hunter VG
the least expensive 243 ammo I could find, S&B 100 gr. soft points.
gusty winds and sunny last night at the range.
figured 2800 fps sounded reasonable. plugged it in, dialed to 200. impacts a bit high. dialed a bit less for 300
rang steel for the rest of the box
this gun is stupid fun to shoot.

Heard that. Hard to beat the fun and price to shoot. 77gr TMK/ 25.5 Lever/ 2.260 COAL. Top one was a 55gr get on paper shot then the last was the adjustment after the group.

Hate this .223. No idea how I can justify any other guns.

Here's a 30 round group about 1.25 in with new 223. Trying to get some rounds through the barrel and learn the gun. Shots in the diamond are a previous day.
Really liking how repeatable this gun is acting. I pulled it all apart and hogged out the barrel channel. Degreased and loctited the rings and caps and re-leveled the scope. Loctited and torqued action bolts to 65 in lbs. Only had to move the scope 1 click down and 1 right to get it re-zeroed(y)

Update on my 243 8 twist. I got a chance to make up a load for this gun. I’m shooting 108 eldm @ 3090 fps. I wanted to take advantage of the 8 twist and gain some down range performance. Overall I’m happy with it so far. The only major plans for it is to put it in a rokstock when it shows up

Top shot was a fouling round after I cleaned. (I know I know old habits die hard but I wanted to start fresh so I could have a round count on file IF I run into issues) the low one was a verifying shot after I slipped the turret

What size sticky dot is that? Looking some smaller ones myself for the higher mag scopes, but have only seen 2” and 1.5” near me in stores (which works for most things quite well) just curious.

I was wondering what barrel length and powder you are running. I am thinking really hard about the .243.

Proofing session for S2HU this week. 108 yards prone.

Two BH 77 TMK 10 round groups at or under an inch.
Custom Tikka, 18" factory cut + Scythe, Alterra stock, Trio 3-18 on UMs.

Two AAC 77 OTM 10 round groups, one of them pretty phenomenal.
Same rifle.

One representative but uninspiring PMC M855 62-grain 11-round group out of a similar rifle in a Wildcat stock with NF SHV F1 scope. FWIW Frontier 62 shot so poorly it wouldn't have fit in the damn frame in rifle 1, but shoots roughly like this in rifle 2 - guns are weird.

Factory 22 inch sporter barrel with h4350 and cci 200 primers lapua brass 108 m’s. I shot it over a crono and it told me it was shooting in the 3000-3030 fps range and when I verified at distance it told me 3090. I’d like to shoot it over a garmin to see if I’m close to that higher number or if I have a zeroing error that is throwing my mv off in the calibrator
