Short quotes that speak volumes.

I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it.

Anyone else read Greek history? The Spartans were masters of the one liner.

King Philip of Macedonia sent a messenger to the Spartans asking if he brings his army will they be treated as friend or foe. The Spartan reply "Neither".

This riled King Philip who sent the messenger again but with the threat " if I bring my army we will kill all your soldiers and destroy your homes". The Spartan reply: "If"

Every gun owner knows Spartan leader Leonides reply to Xerxes demand to put down your weapons: "Come and take them". (Molon Labe)

Here are some I have come up with over the years:

"A mistake made once is ignorance, a mistake made twice is stupidity."

"Knowledge is power but wisdom is temperance."

"I can not bring myself to trust a man who is not crass from time to time."

"A man cannot say he loves this country if he is not willing to occasionally drive across it."

"Gun ownership is the purist expression that the seat of power in America comes from the individual."

"Keep your enemies close but your government closer."

"If you ever want the government to fight to keep something, simply tax it."

"Archery is the ultimate balance between peace and violence."

"Sipping whiskey is the perfect balance between indulgence and temperance."

One of my High School hockey coaches getting mad at us during practice getting frustrated about a couple too many passes and us not attacking the net. He put it into terms that a bunch of high school guys would get.

"Why are we messing around out here? get it to the net!...Guys, it's like your girlfriend. Stop messing around up top and go for the panties!"

Some people bring joy wherever they go. Others bring joy whenever they go.
Reminds me of a sermon I heard on the radio back in the mid 80's. It was a rural church and African American preacher..."I know some of youins got the blues cause somebody you know is gone. And I know some of youins got the blues cause somebody you know still aint gone." Laughed so hard I was cryin and dang near run off in the road ditch.
