Short barrel magnum data

I cut my x bolt 300 win mag down to 23 inches. With federal terminal assent 200 grains I am getting 2870 avg fps. The advertised speed on the box is 2810 fps

No clickers, easy bolt lift, just loaded the 4th round on that lot of brass.
FWIW...those loads are on a seasoned 6.5 CM barrel that was set back and rechambered.

Run the numbers on it to see if the 200 FPS loss would be worth it. It is tooooooo easy to predict velocity compared to wind. Guys shooting PRS are running 2800 FPS and spanking people! Technology has allowed us to run these 16 and 18 inch barrels without losing much! Plus you are not getting caught on every branch that way!

It’s unknown munitions mayhem load. It’s N565 and ADG brass. Not sure on the charge weight.

I should add that velocity is out of a new barrel with less than 50 rounds through it and it’s loaded to 2.955 COAL

May I ask what powder are you using? I think I want to use this bullet in a Tikka 300WSM cut to 20" for a suppressor.

3039fps with HH160
2686fps with terminal Ascent 175
2648fps with accubond 180

The HH are a compressed load and what I used this fall.

H4350, I was doing a ladder over the summer and didn't hit pressure. I didn't have any hotter loads with me.

Had Hammers that day too and they were giving me better accuracy. I went with those as it was summer and I wanted time to shoot the load I'd be using during the fall.

Would you recommend a different powder with the accubonds? I think I have superformance and IMR 4831.

no H4350 and 180gr bullets in the 300wsm are a good combo.
im running 64.5gr h4350 with a 20" tube with 180 AB and seeing 2880-2900fps
H4831 is also really accurate but velocities were down a little bit around 2800fps in my gun
H100V is also a good choice.
Ive never tried the superformance but it defiantly has the highest velocities according to the Hornady book i just can never find any
