Shed thread

Oh man, I am excited to go look for some elk sheds when we move to CO. Hopefully I will meet someone who will show me the ropes. I pick up 50-100 WT/MD sheds a year in ND. 3 weeks ago on my way back from CO by Lusk WY I picked up a nice MD shed on the road!

I went out yesterday and didnt find anything. Wednesday is the next go around. Good luck.

In 2018, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission voted unanimously to prohibit shed antler and horn collection on all public lands west of I-25 from Jan. 1 through April 30, annually.

In addition, to further protect the Gunnison sage-grouse, the new regulations include a time-of-day closure in the Gunnison Basin May 1 - 15 from sunset to 10 a.m. This closure applies to public lands in Game Management Units 54, 55, 66, 67, 551.

Something I was thinking about the other day is if anyone ever finds or hunts antelope sheds? Maybe they cover too much ground and the sheds are too small but I'd think occasionally someone would be finding them around water tanks or something.

I find them quite often especially in Wyoming. I rarely pack them out though. Leave them where they lay most of the time.

Yeah I find them quite often too. Even find old buffalo sheathes now and then. Not worth anything, but cool nonetheless.

Trappers used to use them to put their lure in. Natural smell, holds it in the old hair.
