I have alway been predominantly a rifle hunter. Simply for ease. However i feel like hunting with my bow would provide more of a challenge and sense of accomplishment. That being said what are the hurdles to all season whitetail hunting? Mostly how do you get them coming in close enough year round when you cant use the rut against them? Also, what are some tips, tricks, and gear to spot and stalk bow hunting? Currently im proficient out to 45y with my bow, should i try to gain more peoficiency at distance?

Thanks for any help guys.

I hunt mainly in the Midwest so keep that in mind. Outside of the rut (and even during the rut) I would try and focus on hunting their beds. The guys over at the thehuntingbeast.com are the best at it. Spend some time reading over there. It has completely changed the way I pursue whitetails. Dan Infalt is arguably the best public land whitetail hunter today (his trophy wall speaks for itself) and that is his forum.
If you are tree stand hunting and hunting deer beds then 45 yards is more than sufficient. I am not much help on spot and stalk whitetails. Good luck.

Is there somewhere on that forum that lays out what "beast" hunting style is? Everyone keeps mentioning it, but i cant get a solid thread or anything on what it is.
