Seekins PH3

I just got to handle and buy a PH3 at my LGS in 6.5 PRC 20" bbl. The gun is pretty dang nice, can't wait to get it out to the range. They got 4 of them in and 2 sold within 15 mins. Also really looking forward to spinning on a 223 barrel and shooting the crap out of it.

Any chance you can weigh that bad boy? Curious if the 1/2 lb increase in weight estimate is accurate.

Scheels had one behind the glass today, but didn’t feel like waiting forever to handle it. I’ll check it out again some other time. Looked like a nice rifle!

Thats too bad. With the Element being 5.5lbs and being discontinued, I was hoping the P3 would try and stay closer to 6-6.5 lbs to stay a contender for people wanting a lightish rifle.
Element line is still available.

The PH2's were /are 6.9-7.2 according to Seekins . I am sure the Element M3's will be close to 6 lbs

Love the modularity of the new ph3, but one thing I will never understand on a hunting rifle is an adjustable cheek piece. Doesn't seem like something that adds any functionality, for the additional weight. Guys using them, do you ever adjust it after its set?

Also, why m-lok instead of an arca rail? Seems like most of us will just need to slap on an arca rail anyway, for even more weight than listed. Would love to hear some thoughts

Agree unless one wants extra weight. Seems more for aesthetic reasons to me. People dont want some aftermarket or garage cobbled comb heigh adjustment on there.

I wouldn't want full arca on most hunting rifles because of how much they are hand carried and how little they are locked into a tripod.

Generally speaking - the new more feature laden stocks are a downgrade for what I'd want.

There is certainly a general weight debate on the trade off of an adjustable cheek piece vs stock with a monte carlo profile vs straight comb. I see it as a source of adjustability with what scope/ring/base combo is installed. Not everyone puts a 3-9 on a Tikka T3 where you can get away with the straight comb stock.

As to the Seekins, the bolt can't be removed without lowering cheek piece. Which is easily done with the push-in button.

Yeah, fair point! All those guys running 56mm NF optics are gonna need that height lol and a few extra ounces on your comb probably doesn't mean much then

Bolt can be removed if adj comb is in the first up position which is where I keep mine. NX8 w/Seekins low rings.

Called Euro Optics yesterday and they said they were expecting them sometime this month. Called Seekins almost 2 weeks ago and they said they planned on shipping a good size order to Euro by the end of April so who knows I already paid full price up front and want it now LOL. Going to call Seekins again tomorrow and bust there balls a little.

I unfortunately canceled my order. Ordered from Euro in Feb. Got told I "should" have it by march. Then April. Then May. Now I was told they will start producing them again (7prc havak m3) late June. Ended up snagging a ready to ship from Alamo precision and cant wait to stretch it out. Ill eventually grab a Seekins after they cool down and are readily available.

Nice. Please let us know how it feels/shoots. Which caliber/length did you go with?

I got a 7prc with a 22 in barrel. Hope to get the scope mounted and shoot it this weekend. Very impressed so far. I don’t understand comments I have read about the bolt action. It is smooth as silk. Weight is as expected.
