I don't understand why people struggle with the ideas within the Declaration of Independence on which this nation was founded. Rights originate from our Creator to the Individual, period the end. The rights of the state whether that be the federal government or government of WY are derived from the Individuals from which they govern per the Federal and State Constitutions. You see the rights of the state are explicitly limited to what was explicitly given to it within a Constitution. Otherwise the Rights of the Individual takes precedence over the state. It's understandable that most don't understand this because this is the very thing that made America a radical new concept in the governance of man, not the self governance BS that public education pedals.
Above I read as "We don't need no stinking laws. No state can control me."

Below I read as "Laws are good and keep us safe."
Obeying the laws which the Constitution gives the state the authority to exercise is the price we pay to have a safe and functioning society for our Wives and Children.

How am I wrong if you wrote it?

I think there is a little confusion with respect to powers “granted to the states”.

Unless it is specifically reserved for the federal government, or prohibited for the states to have the power, then everything else is reserved for the states.

Laws are different in each state because the people of the state get the choice of how to define residents and what privileges the resident status carries.

You do not sacrifice your 4th amendment rights to game wardens, but the courts have consistently ruled the interest of the state is typically higher with respect to fish and game laws (refer back to public trust doctrine) and therefore there is a lesser expectation of privacy while you are hunting and/or fishing.

Phew. Finally. I missed this train wreck last night and was debating a meme or substantive comment. Thanks for covering the latter.

In anticipation of a possible nonsensical response (“but all powers first come from the Creator so no powers are reserved to the States!”), I’m interested in how best to call the Creator to weigh in on this thread.

$12k will buy the OP an offroad scissor lift to hunt from. Doubles as an elevated blind too. GW won't be able to reach him to give him a ticket.
Don't underestimate OP. He's the kinda guy that'll pay $12k for a $300 fine. Even a terrible salesman ought to be able to pad his commission on the lift by an extra $12k

$300 an hour? Don't think that touches a decent lawyer around here. Can't speak to ID though

He's now renovating his Utah home. And next year will be asking for a Utah FG lawyer.
This brings up an interesting point. It is extremely difficult to get popped on residency violations unless you try to claim residency with multiple state F&G depts in the same year or are consistently bouncing residency from one state to another every year or two.

Sounds like the OP put down his Utah address for his mailing address and that raised some red flags for fish and game so they investigated.

This whole thread brought back memories to when I was a police officer.

I pulled over a sovereign citizen with no license, no plates, and no insurance.

I towed his vehicle and he later reported it stolen…listing me as the suspect.
