@mxgsfmdpx Ok, don't take offense to my sarcasm, but I am not lying about my 5 shot group... or am I?

Next time you need to work on “doing your part”. Haha. Thanks man and appreciate the PMs. Again, I learned something new today appreciate it.

Also, I re-confirmed I’ll never go to a “gun range” again in my life haha. That looks gross.

Thats the 100yd range and it is not my favorite, but I'm a member out there and members get access to the long range, has dozens of steel targets across the hillside from 100yd to 650yds, thats where I spend most of my time. It was too foggy today so the long range was shut down.

Mounted this Maven rs1.2 on the 223 a couple weeks ago and at the time only fired 5 after a few boresight shots (don’t have pics of that target) but based on the small sample size of 5 I figured it was an ok place to leave it for the time being. Nothing crazy, gun has rode in my truck to and from work and finally got out today to shoot again. I typically zero off 10 but since it’s getting harder to shoot more than a hundred yards in my usual locations I figured it was a good time to try out an extended round zero to get some new quality brass (starline) fireformed. Here’s a 35 round zero check, plan to leave this scope on this rifle for the foreseeable future so I’ll be able to track it tho I’ve already proofed this scope.

Not a long range rig, but checked zero on a new scope after the season today.
Initial zero and post-season zero check:

New Trijicon accupoint 1-6, NF UL rings, weaver base, (all torqued and with thread locker, rings at 20in/lb), Rem 7600 carbine 30-06, factory barnes vortx 168gr TTSX.

10/13/24, temps in the mid 60’s, spitting rain, calm wind
Boresighted, fired one shot. Adjusted off the one shot, and fired a 3-shot group.

Adjusted down 6 clicks, fired another 3-round group.

Normally I would have fired 10 and done a final adjustment, but this gun is not particularly precise to begin with, it’s downright unpleasant to shoot and given that the 2 small groups, absent the adjustment I made, would have stacked right on top of each other which pointed toward 6+ round consistency, I elected to leave it as-is since its within a click of my intention to be zeroed 1” high. 95% of its use is 75 yards and less, but this allows me to hold center inside any realistic distance where I hunt (sub 200 yards MAX).

Since then, its been on about 300 driving miles, about 30 of which was on seasonal, rough gravel roads. Carried the gun about 20 cumulative miles off-trail. I did take one fall onto my ass as the bark slipped off the trunk of a deadfall I was trying to climb over, where the gun took some significant impact. And exactly one shot fired. Ended up shooting a good for me buck on day 4 and didnt end up rifle hunting thru much of the rest of the season, so thats the extent of use so far.

Zero check today 1/11/25. It was snowing pretty good, about 18f, and light wind.

The group today is centered about 1/2” higher, but given this is realistically a 3moa gun, as well as the 3-round initial zero, I think this result is unsurprising, and I cant say it moved. Given what this rifle is, Im happy with how the scope is holding zero in use. I’ll likely check it again similarly next fall and will report back if anything changes. Until then Im calling it solid.

Zero check #2. See Post in thread 'Scope Zero Check Thread' https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/scope-zero-check-thread.386182/post-3969330 for first check.

I did some hiking and jogging in the mountains with the rifle strapped to my pack. Plus some road miles since the last zero check. This was off the bench at the range today.

These rounds were made up with a couple different lots of primers from the first zero check as well as a couple different groups of factory 2nd 108eldm, sorted by base to ogive.

First group was shot not square to target like I usually am. Had to get their silly tables figured out. That is why the group is slightly further right than #2 and 3

I took all these guns apart and moved scopes around, jacked with triggers, textured sticks, blah blah blah. Went out in a few degrees below 0 early this morning to shoot. Tough to feel real confident with thick leather gloves on but I was happy with how everything shot.

I will certainly shoot bigger sample sizes when my hands aren’t frozen inside my gloves.

3 with my main hunting rifle (T3X 6.5CM and 2.5-10). Probably need to come left 1/2 minute but it stays centered up well at distance for me.

5 on the left with my 6mm CM and 115 DTAC load. Came right .3 and shot 2 and called it good.

3 with the T3x 22-250 and 88s. Came up .2 and c went to shooting steel.

2 checks yesterday.

Tikka 6.5 creed @18", cgs hyperion, swfa 5-20, area 419 rail jb welded on, Burris xtr signature rings, heavily modified factory stock. Rifle has been in the safe since the spring. First shot was the lowest one, which became a trend for this rifle on this day as i switched between it and the compact stocked 223. This is one of the largest groups I've ever shot with this rifle.

Intended to check zero on the 223 as well, but forgot the tmk hunting ammo. Used the crappy 75 bthp handloads, which shoot close to the same poi. This rifle was last zero checked in October, and had since been on a bunch of uncased car rides and hunted ~5 days. It was for sure knocked over twice while hunting, possibly other times i don't remember.

Tikka action, pva 3b 223@16", cgs hyperion, swfa 3-9, area 419 rail jb welded on, Burris xtr signature rings. Heavily modified compact Tikka stock. Typical group with this ammo.

Both groups were prone, with a pint size gamechanger on a chunk of wood up front. Rear support for the 6.5 was my bino harness, for the 223 it was the rear bags from that dude on SH, I forget his name.
