Scope Recommendation for Kids

There are a number of used 6x scopes available under $300. Weaver k6 is a usable scope for $150. Redfields seem to go for $150-$200ish. Burris is often $200-$250. Leupolds seem to stay $250-$300 range. The main thing is to error on the side of newer, rather than older. A scope out of the 1960’s can look similar to one out of the 1990’s or 2000’s.

Most of the fixed power scopes will keep their value - they aren’t making them any more. The fixed 6x Leupolds are selling for near new price not that long ago.

The one I had was actually pretty good. V Plex reticle and mine was made in the Philippines. Maybe worth a look. IMO.

If your kid is the type of kid that will screw with turrets he’s not supposed to he shouldn’t be touching a loaded rifle.
