Recently obtained a stock, stainless Model Seven .243. Looking to see other peoples Model Sevens with modifications for ideas, and to hear what you recommend or do not recommend as far as upgrades.

I am debating on cutting it down to 16.5" and threading vs leaving standard length.

Also any .243 successful load data for 95 NBT's is also welcomed.

Mine is an 18” that my great uncle gave me. I believe it’s an early 90s model. I usually have a leupold 3-9 on it and no bipod, but I was doing some load dev and wanted more scope. The Magnus S is a bit much for it, but it is very quiet and pleasant to shoot. 45.2 grains of H4831sc at 2.7” COAL is giving my 2910 fps. Much better than the factory 100 grain powershoks at 2650. However, that factory load was still quite deadly on deer

Just recently traded for this 300 saum Model 7. It was bone stock when I received it with a stainless barrel and synthetic B&C stock. Ordered a green and black-webbed HS Precision stock and gave it a DIY paint job with flat back Rustoleum High-Heat. Swapped the trigger for a Timney and topped it with a Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-12.5x42. Shot it for the first time today. It’s no laser beam, but shoots 165 Nosler Partitions into MOA groups and will be plenty serviceable for the roles I have planned for it. Recoil was not nearly as bad as I expected. IMG_1317.jpeg
