Savage 110 ultralight (proof barrel)

We’re you able to seat the bullet further out then Sammi specs? Hoping to run 175s

I haven’t really tried. All my rifles that I hand load for are hunting rifles, and if I get loads with bullets I want for terminal performance, that are below .500 moa, I’m usually good. If I was chasing thousands of inches, I’d mess with seating depth. Most of my hunting loads I can usually get into the .300-.500 moa range while seating .030” off the lands.

I try to find a really effective bullet weight range for a caliber and stay close to that. My 6.5 range is 130-147, my .270 range is 130-150, my 7mm range is 160-168, and my .30 range is 165-180. You certainly can go outside of this, but it’s what I do to keep life simple.

I am currently contemplating on buying one but seems like the listed weights are not accurate

I can re weigh mine tomorrow. But I think it’s 7lbs 3 oz with a leupold vx 5hd 3.5-15

Wondering if anyone knows what the factory bolt handle weighs?

I love my Savage 111 in 30-06. It's killed a pile of deer. Touching bullets at 100 yards with off shelf ammo. That's next level taking 2 lbs off that platform!

With a leupold vx5 hd 3x15 the rifle is 7.7 lbs. No ammo in the mag.
Is that 7 pounds 7oz or 7.7lbs (7lbs 11oz). From my quick calculations of the the vx5 listed weight and the ultralite's listed weight, it should come in a 7lb and 7oz although that's not factoring in rings which could be 3-4 oz
