Did you by chance get your chassis? I am thinking about going this route with my rifle.I have a magnesium xlr element chassis on order. Should come in at a tad over 8lbs wirh a nightforce shv.
My 28 seems to shoot the 175gr ablr very well. I have some 162 eldx to try as well but will pry stick with the heavier bulletAny new updates with the ultralite? Anyone running the 180 VLD in the 28 nosler? Or anything else in the 28 nosler?

That's a good looking rifle. I might have to own an Ultralight someday. The Talley torque specs can be found on the back of the packaging or on their website. Base to Rifle is generally in the 30-35 in/lbs. range IIRC but don't quote me on that.Just got my 6.5 Prc with Talley medium rings and leupold VX-3HD 4.5-14x40. Love the look so far. Haven’t shot it yet but not sure on the torque of the Talley base to rifle. Had a store do it for me since I was being lazy. Can’t find anything to double check his work.
This x1000I have to say the new Savage stocks are SUCH an improvement over their old stocks. They fit me so well and soak up recoil like mad.
Thanks a lot. It was like 4oz higher than the specs said it would be. It was 6 lb 4 oz bare bones. With scope and rings it was 7lb like 6 oz. can’t remember but somewhere in that ballpark. Really light though. Shooting it this weekend. Can’t believe I haven’t shot it yet but crap weather in the PNW slowed me down. That's a good looking rifle. I might have to own an Ultralight someday. Out of curiosity, what does that rig weigh, as shown?
Stock painted, rings and optic mounted, and ready to shoot. Comes in at 8lbs6oz as pictured.
Read page 16, I explain it all.How did you do that paint job? Looks great!
