Sauer 100 Experiences?

Sauer’s web site lists the twists and turns on all their rifles, but I don’t remember if it1:8 or 1:9. Super smooth action great accuracy with box ammo and pride of ownership for small money. Now if they would just thread all their barrels

You nailed it, why isnt it standard practice to thread barrels these days? The non threaded barrel on the 100xt forced me to pony up for the Ceratech in 300 win mag.

I read a review this morning that asserted that new Sauer 100s are made more cheaply and don’t have the same smooth action as older ones (circa 2019). Anyone else have this experience?

I ordered one today. It should arrive Monday and I will report back.

I've had one in 7mm Rem Mag for 3 years and shot mule deer at 310, 340, & 620 yards. Shoots great, very smooth action, fantastic trigger, and metal safety switch. Wouldn't hesitate to get another one especially at the price point I've seen at EuroOptic.

I have the same rifle in 6.5 CM, what factory loads did your rifle like? That group looks great!

Mine loves the Norma Ecostrike and Norma Golden Target.

Sellier and Bellot 142gr BTHP are pretty decent, as well as Federal premium berger match.

Dont mind the two outliersvin the blue from the Sellier target, they we're from another bullet i

My rifles are a year old but the action fields like butter. Smoothest thing I own.

What ammo you running through it?
For factory ammo it shot Vortex TTSX 150s and Federal terminal Ascents really well. It did not shoot Norma Whitetail 150s very well at all but I was only shooting those for the brass. But now I'm shooting 162 ELDM reloads and they're shooting great.

Mine will also arrive Monday or Tuesday.

I am trusting Jake that it won’t have a plastic safety switch.
I just ordered 2 today from eurooptic. I went with the wood stock in 7mm-08. One for myself and im gonna surprise my dad with the other for Christmas. How do you like the one you got?

Is that the NF picatinny rail? I can't find one that fits semi-flush with the 100's ejection port...and it drives me nuts

I have not found any factory ammo that either of my Sauer’s have issues with. The Norma Bondstrike and the ELD-M Hornady are both spot on from a bench.

I like them but watch your twist rate. The problem is aftermarket support and I believe most models are getting discontinued. So there’s a support and longevity issue.

All that said the value is undeniable if you are planning to keep it stock.

Agree 100% on the value for a stock rifle, however a significant issue will be finding additional magazines for the Classic 100 XT.
I got enough for my 6.5 CM back when I ordered it. I placed an order with Jake at EuroOptic for a second Type B for my 9.3x62. I'm confident he will come through for me.

I’m buying a Sauer 9.3x62 for a trip to Mozambique ( they asked I bring one gun only, because extra paperwork) I think 9.3 should work well as a single rifle safari
Keep us informed about how you like or dislike it
