Salsa & Hot Sauce!

I’ll second Sadie’s salsa from Albuquerque. The hot is hot.

I will have to try the Marie Sharps though.

👍
Just had some of that on my tacos. Wish they sold the big jugs here. I usually get the “not as hot” for the family. This time a said “hell with them” and got the hot.

Cilanktro.
My all time favorite, goes on everything but ice cream
made by a small company of fisherman/ surfers in NJ
“Camouflage” is not bad either
My family orders by the case.

I would also say there are 2 different discussions going on here:

1. Hot sauce used to spice up anything from buffalo wings to jambalaya.

2. Hot sauce aka salsa which where I come from is its own food group and a source of all essential nutrients besides protein and corn. This consists just of tomatoes, onions, garlic, +/- cilantro, salt, and some form of spicy peppers preferably jalapeños or hatch green chili’s. This would be used on tortilla chips, burritos, breakfast burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and other forms of Mexican food, Tex-Mex, New Mex-Mex, Jalisco, etc foods. Like the old Pace Picante Sauce commercials- it would not be made in New Jersey or anywhere else North or East of the Red River (in my opinion).

You also take your chips seriously! I played a season of baseball there in 2000ish and it was the first time I encountered meat flavored Lay's. My mind was blown.

Let’s hunt him down like the vermin he is. Blasphemous shit like that doesn’t fly. Maybe we could write “Tabasco sucks!” on his forehead and dump him hog tied onto Avery Island.
That's a very reasonable plan.

I'm in. Pack your $55 boxers!

My favorite is my own! Hatch green chili…. make a big batch every hatch season

Tabasco is trash. I dare you to disagree.
You gotta learn to like the wet sock taste/odor!

Franks
Cholula
Crystal
Sriracha
My fridge is always stocked with those 4 plus one or two rotating spots. I'm not about the super heat those are in my comfort range.

Salsa I am all over the map but the best are my homemade versions, especially mango for fish tacos, and tomatillo for pork.

When i was in maui i found out about HI Spice and now have a monthly subscription where then send you 4 bottles every month. So far its been the best hot sauce i have found that has great flavor as well. Got everything from low heat up to burn your BH hot.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but, Palo Alto fire sauce is incredible. Should be able to find it online and it comes in single packets
