Anyone have any experience with the new Salomon Quest Tracker? To me the upper looks almost exactly like the Salomon Quest 4D Forces (the midsole and sole seems to be a bit different, more geared towards hunting.)

From what I've read the Forces are the older version of the Quest 4's, which everyone seems to like way better than the newer version of the Quest 4's....

So I ran to scheels to check these out...yeah they are very much like the old Quest 4 before the latest redesign. If you were a fan of that shoe, or if you are a fan of the Quest Forces I would say check these out.

I have 1 pair of the 4d left that are like new, the fit and feel of the 4d is great.

I’m probably gonna pick up a pair even knowing all the Salomon caveats… you are right the fit and feel was great. I’ve tried on the newer Quest 4s a couple times and never liked them.

I also noticed that the midsole and sole is the same as the Quest Element model

Did you end up getting a pair? Any feedback on fit and feel relative to the original Quest 4D’s?

No I didn’t end up buying a pair, ended up using a different pair i already had

Just following up on this…I ordered a pair of the Quest Trackers. If you’re looking for a replication of the older style Quest 4D, these just miss the mark. Initial impressions on fit are positive, but they have one fatal flaw for me: closed lace eyelets on the upper portion. I don’t know who is doing boot design at Salomon but this is a massive swing and a miss, and a deal breaker for me.

Damn that that sucks. I was excited for about 2 seconds reading this post. I wish a real boot company would copy the old quest, make it with better materials, eyelets with rollers n locks, and a vibram sole. The Solomon’s are the only boot I can walk endless miles in rough terrain and not have my feet hurt. Problem is the lacing sucks and they wear out after one big trip.

Yeah, the search continues. I think the Crispi Lapponia III is the next one I’ll try.

The closed eye lacing is a military requirement. Open hooks can snag a rope while rappelling.

I have a pair of Forces with closed loop instead of hook including the lock eye. Forces makes size 15, regular quest stops at 14. Have 3 pair of quest in 14, one of Forces in 15. Closed lace loops are a non issue. Just pull and tie. Laces are long so I tie the ends in a knot when removing then can pull plenty of slack in each loop set and place over tongue to hold open.

Has anyone worn these and have any feedback on durability or waterproofing? Is it any better with the tracker than the quest?
