Any more updates on this pistol? Reliability? Round count?
What did you decide for ammo? Thanks.

No functional issues, I only have around 500 rounds through it, carry it regularly and prefer it over my bigger guns now.

I don’t shoot it like my optic equipped shield plus but man is it light and nice to carry. Can conceal this thing easy in shorts and a t shirt.

Federal hydrashok deep is what I am using for carry.

My only complaint would be that the mag release is a little proud.

Awesome little pistol. I’ll have another eventually.

Thank you. I’m contemplating this instead of my 365.
I handled one at the LGS and it really worked well for the size of my hands.
And weighed nothing. Which I think would get me carrying all the time instead of when convenient. Appreciate your help.

I have both the Sig P365 and the Bodyguard in 380. I prefer the bodyguard. Usually in a pocket holster.

That’s exactly why I end up reaching for it every time now. It’s just more comfortable to carry than my shield plus.

Shield plus I can always tell is there, the bodyguard 2.0 I don’t even feel barely.

Sort if feels like a smaller shield plus or compact handgun than it does a pocket pistol.

I can’t say I shoot it incredibly well, definitely not like a pistol with an optic, but well enough.

I’d prefer something that is optics ready myself. But considering the possible use for this pistol, it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me.

Got a holster and some hydra shok deep.

Feed and function is fine with the hydra shin deep. Holster is comically small. Gun is extremely comfortable to carry and shoot.

I still shoot a pistol with an optic, even a very short one with an optic much better but my dot equipped shield plus is significantly bigger and heavier, and can be hard to conceal in summer cloths at times. This is a nice option to have, like wearing nothing, and a shooting experience like a much bigger gun.

Are you liking the Tulster holster? Just bought a less expensive one but almost pulled the trigger on the Tulster. Seems like there are mixed reviews for every holster for the 2.0 but at the same time I can't see it mattering too much with such a small gun.

Also, I planned on carrying XTPs like I did with my other 380 due to positive testing with 380 but may have to try the hydra Shok deeps. Haven't heard as much about them.

Considering one of these to carry while running. I have gotten into the habit of not carrying while running.

Not to change the OP’s thread, but the ultimate running/deep concealment pistol is the Glock 42 with good sights and a Fabriclip AWB holster.

Impressive group and a great option. Having just got the bodyguard 2.0 it has moved up the top of list of tiny but shootable guns. Have you tried it yet? It even has the option of a thumb safety like you prefer.

No issues with the tulster. I did replace the plastic clip with a dcc monoblock but I like the dcc clips to be on whatever I’m carrying.

Only thing that would be nice is a little coverage of the mag button, or even better getting a second from s&w and shaving it down. My only real complaint on the gun. That and I don’t understand the texture on the slide breakdown lever.

I handled both last weekend, I preferred the bodyguard in the hand.

Neat little pistol but it wouldn't be a woods gun for me. More of a deep concealment tool when needed. I don't have an issue with carrying a rifle in the wilderness, so a small pistol isn't a what I reach for there. I'll carry my S&W 686 4" or G23 for that. Hellcat OSP in the pocket or belt for work/ EDC. I am considering a G48 or another G19 for carry and competition. But a 380 ACP would be a deep concealment stoked with ball or flat nosed bullets. Maybe the new ammo is better but I doubt it. The gel tests we did back in the 90's sold me on ball for just the 380 acp, due to the insufficient penetration.

It seems the .380 lacks penetration, and most articles I read on personal defense suggest using ball ammo. If you insist on using hollow points, at least stagger them in the mag so you get a mix of HP and fmj.

I use the DCCs as well. The mag button is oddly prominent. Seems like I read from a different holster manufacturer that they purposely didn't cover it because it would be more likely to get compressed and press the button or something? Can't totally remember

I havnt had it dump a magazine yet with alot of carrying. I can feel the mag release though, it’s very textured as well. Makes sense not to fully cover it.

Federal hydra shok deep is the only 380 ammo that meets fbi standards. That is what I am shooting in this gun.
That's the first I've seen of that ammo so thanks for bringing it up. It does look like it performs well for bare skin and heavy clothing gel tests. And so it probably would be my pick for two legged engagements. But it still wouldn't be what I would take into the woods. Where I live wolves, cougars, bears, coyotes and two legged threats are common. But hey you do you. This is America and if that 380 acp is what you want to carry then by all means carry it. Far better than nothing for going out in the woods.
