Amazing that so many Roksliders seem to have no ability to reflect on history and the future of East vs west. We are fortunate to have large oceans to shield us and many strong Allies, and I am too young to be a Cold Warrior but I do know enough to understand that this is a terrible day for Europeans. Based on his recent speeches it’s clear that Putin is unhinged and only acts for the history books.

I don’t know where this mindset comes from. I’m fairly certain there are no gold medals given to the tens of thousands of US military service members who would be killed in another world war. I come from a long line of service men and women and served three deployments to Afghanistan.

I don’t think any of my friends who were killed and injured ever received gold medals. Pretty sure my great great grandfather who spent 3 years as a Japanese POW in WW2 never received a gold medal.

I completely understand and agree that war is a necessary evil in society, but to quantify it as receiving a gold medal literally makes me sick to my stomach. There will be no winners to the service men and women who may be called to fight in this war and I hope we as a society understand the ENORMOUS sacrifice we are asking from them when and if we engage in this conflict.

Because there is jack i can do about the situation besides make lite of it. Display American bravado.

Weakness is the true sign of a failed president. Weakness is what we now have in the White House. But honestly it really would not matter who is in the white house, Putin could care less what he and the entire world think, he will do as he pleases and continue to snub his nose at the USA/world. My wife drives a Prius. So does my daughter. They are safe, reliable and save us a ton on gas. There is a good reason they are so popular. I'm a conservative. I have no issue with being conservative in how I use fuel. Not sure why any conservative would see that as a problem, especially if they are a hunter and it could be better for the environment.
