Hey there,
I'm on the hunt for a stock for a model 70 300 wsm and have come up with several that would work but are inletted for a heavy barrel application and mine is a standard barrel. I've held off because I'm assuming it would look stupid but I can't seem to find any pictures of what that outcome would be. Has anybody done it or have any pics? I'm assuming this is a no go but my curiosity is piqued.

Probably some benefits:
No contact, added cooling, 🤔
Looks Cool. 😎

What do you have going on under that thing? Do my eyes spy a tripod and ball head?

Yup, dual purposing my tripod, actually
Multi purpose. I use it for : spotting scope,
Binos, range finder, front rest, rear support w/ shooting sticks, tarp support, etc.

I like it, that's been floating around in the back of my head so this thread just killed 2 birds with one stone.
I had my eyes on a hogue overmold with the full length aluminum bedding block. For the $63.00 delivered its worth seeing it first hand. I'm not looking to go crazy on this one but if I can get it back to reliable for cheap I'd rather save the money for the next one. I'll post a few pics when it comes in.

SL in a CTR. I usually keep it hidden so people don’t laugh and poke fun. I trust you guys to keep it on the down low.

After some fast shipping I’m cautiously optimistic of the results. I can live with the extra clearance and I’m hoping this clears up some weird stuff I had going on when using a bipod on the flimsy factory synthetic stock
