There’s one of these locally on clearance for $273 plus tax. I don’t really need one, but it seems to be a good deal. Anyone recommend it?
 
I had one that shot fantastic! Not the most refined rifle, but definitely does the job.
 
Cheaply made gun that shoots very well. Mine was 50 bucks more. Low points are the stock design, I need a riser to line up on my low mounted scope and the stock itself is just cheap. Trigger group looks like pot metal.
high points, it all works and is accurate. Very little recoil in 6.5. Magpul mags available in 5 rd capacity.
 
I got one in college when I was broke, and the darn thing has no right to be as accurate as it is. Sub MOA with ANY factory load I've put through it. My Howa is definitely a better put together gun, but that Ruger American just drives tacks. It's the easiest to shoot rifle in my safe. At $400 they're a great buy, but at $300, it's a steal. Pick it up and try it out!

Cant find that gun for under $475 around here. I have one and it's the most accurate rifle under $900 I've owned.
 
If you do get it, check out mcarbo for a trigger spring. $13 and I have a consistant 2lb 5oz trigger.

I felt the trigger just a few minutes ago. It felt pretty heavy. My tikka is about a 3lb trigger and this was probably a 4+lb. not terrible tho.
 
I have a loaner in 308 and this project of mine in 204. Well under a grand (not including the optic) and it’s ridiculously accurate.

They're easy to adjust. Mine is at 2.5 with the factory trigger and spring after adjustment, I wouldn't worry about it!
