Torque Wrench for barrel swaps

I got mine from harbor freight. It seems to do the job well. Probably more expensive and better options but for the price I've got no complaints.

I can't speak for gunsmithing purposes aside from scope mounts, but for automotive work, the Lexivon units from Amazon are amazing for the price. I have them all from the 1/4" to the big #250 1/2". I've used them on everything from torquing scope bases at 15 in-lb to axle nuts at 160 ft-lb.

that thread is what prompted this thread... figured the torque wrenches for auto might not fit the same application as barrels. For my bolt guns, I think torque spec is generally between 80-100 lbs. Wasn't sure if I needed something that might be a bit more precise

I think there all the same until you get down to a screwdriver.
I mean they are all going to have different qc specs.
But I think close enough counts when torquing on a barrel.

I think the goal is mostly not to beef cake the crap out of it. Like most guys would with a torque wrench at all.

Harbor freight torque wrench and internal action wrenches for me. Imo, its not critical to be dead nuts, just tight. Each company has different torque specs.

Harbor Freight has dozens of options, click type and digital.

AutoZone will probably have a couple of options, if you don't have a nearby Harbor Freight.

Tekton brand or Harbor freight Icon are decent for the price. I like them

Despite owning the right torque wrenches for it, I still dont use them for barrels
I tighten with a 12" T handle as hard as I can by hand #science

Harbor freight's are $12-ish when they're on sale. I had one that had to get swapped because the specs got wonky. But, it was the easiest tool replacement I've ever done. Just always make sure to return the setting to zero for a click type torque wrench.
