Rounding out bigger caliber

Small calibers I have figured out.

I shoot a 300 prc with 225s.

I had a 375 HH that burned in my parents recent fire.

I have a few actions (700s) mag bolt face

Do I build another 375 or what's a logical step up for caliber.
Large game medium distance.

.458WM would be the logical progression on a mag bolt face standard action length. .458 Lott in a magnum length action.

How about the .416 Rem Mag? 2400 fps with 400 gr bullets, or load it with 300 to 350 gr bullets for higher velocity. I had one for a while and recoil with 400 gr Partitions at 2400 fps was not bad at all.

Nobody hates anything or themselves enough, to warrant a .460 Weatherby.

I second the vote for a 458 of one kind or the other. Something about the big hole in the muzzle makes everyone smile. Lol

There seems to be a strange number of very light weight 458 barrels - even the BRNO rifles have a very slim barrel. I picked up a BRNO takeoff barrel to rethread for my Remington and it should work well, but wow is it thin. So recently a Ruger 458 barrel fell out of the sky and the profile is very nice - much thicker, but not too much.

The .375 Ruger is a boring but effective choice. Offers a bit more pop than the H&H version with the same bullet weights. 260 Accubonds at 2900, 270 LRXs at 2800. Sounds good to me. Also, same case as .300 PRC.

Yes that’s a good one. Same for the 416 Ruger.

If you're building on a Remington Magnum action there's no reason other than brass availability not to go 375 RUM if it appeals.
However I'm a 35 caliber enthusiast and find them to be a noticeable step up in performance from .30 calibers on game. 35-375 Ruger is cool if a wildcat appeals.
I'd probably be looking at a Magnum cased 35 not sure which one though. Unless Africa is on your bucket list than I'd go 375.
