RokStok

I have a bare carbon I plan to paint this summer. Orange will be the theme.

Ive got one in drop shadow orange as well and it will also be the first lite I order.

I painted one of my bare carbons but the other I may just sell as they are not making them anymore and I figure someone may want one.

I took @Ajsomp 's old Rokstok and milled it out today for a CTR inlet for a MDT Hunter AICS bottom metal. Waiting now for the pillar bedding to cure, then will bed the bottom metal. Accurate Mag .223 AICS mags lock in nice and tight, no wiggle, and feed as they should.

One thing of note on the Hunter bottom metals is the hole that the trigger drops through is cavernous. I milled some 1/8" aluminum to match the factory opening and have JB welded that to the bottom metal to close it up. According to MDT it's so you can adjust the trigger while the action is still in the gun, but it was obvious that it would allow the action/trigger to fill with all kinds of shit.

Almost didn’t recognize it - I never got around to adding the cheek piece.

Legit rig there

This build took me from six to midnight. I’m jealous

You guys are making me jealous - impatiently waiting for my order. 120 days is coming up in about 2 weeks, so hoping I'll have my Tikka 6 ARC all wrapped up soon.

Looks great. How long's the barrel and which suppressor?

If I were looking to get a new rifle and I knew I wanted it to have a rokstok, is having UM build the rifle (either through their tiered tikka build option or the full custom) the simplest and most cost effective way to go about sourcing/assembling the parts needed? As opposed to buying a factory rifle and then a separate rokstok and sending it all off to get installed. In my mind it is but maybe I’m missing something.

Huge open ended question. Installing a factory barreled action into a stock is super easy at the DIY hobby level. A full build will require a good gunsmith or advanced DIY skills and tooling.

Dropping a tikka into a rokstock only requires a torque screw driver and 5 min. Rebarreling a tikka is not hard but does require a few hundred in tools.

Might save you some time and trouble though I suppose to have them do it if you are doing more than the stock.

Just so he is clear, the barrel would be one of the many prefit options out there. Also, you can order a prefit from LS wild and send your action in to have them install for $45 so you don't have to deal with it or buy the tools.

Good to know regarding installing a barreled action. I would do that and drop it into the rokstok myself but tikka not currently offering a 6cm complicates things. I’m still considering between 6cm and 6.5cm but that’s not the discussion here. If I can get my hands on an action, going to LSwild might be what I do. Thanks yall

Buy a 6.5cm and shoot it for a while, then rebarrel. That's my plan. Bought the 6.5cm a few years ago and have slowly made it how I want, next step is 6cm barrel.

Yea if you want the 6CM I would do that for sure. You can even order the Tikka and have it shipped directly to him and he will rebarrel it and send it to you. At least I am pretty sure I saw him offer that.

I have one of his 6cm barrels and am very happy with it so far. Great guy to deal with.
