What did it measure to?For those who think I’m off the lug with the recess.

It’s a small spot to get really flush with but with my dial calipers .093-.096 again hard to be totally certain on being perfectly level on the lug. But the play dough shows it’s compressing down to the top of the lug. The lug CANNOT be removed without damage. I’ve heated it gently. Tapped it to try and get some play and used vice grips. Never even budged a little. The factory one came right out with a decent tug. What did it measure to?

My notification it was shipped was when I requested the trinity rail as well, I didn’t get a ca but didn’t have any changes from original either.Got my red carpet call from UM today. Painless and very much appreciated.
I had made two changes to my order: one to 2 color cerakote last Spring and a last minute change to a trinity rail.
The cerakote change was correctly captured.
The trinity rail was not, however, when I had emailed to request the change I was told it was too late to formally change the order since the stock was in shipment but that they would add a note.
That note was missed/lost, but thanks to the call I was able to clarify the change, it was noted, and hopefully I’ll be looking it over in person in a couple of weeks.

I was told by UM today that those values were normal. The factory was .078. They said tikka’s dont sit dead like some upon working the action screws. I’ll shoot it again with lighter torque values. 45 inch lbs to start. See if that tightens things up as far as groups go. They also said the photos I sent look normal but that I might benefit from removing a bit from the shank area. The play dough photos didn’t look abnormal to them.I would take all of 5 minutes to modify and repost the inlet toolpath so there was a flat datum in front of the lug so the final qc could hit it with a go/no go gage and check the lug protrusion.
Ouch! Shipped UPS?Got my stock super happy!
Just a heads up for Canadians ordering I got hit for $95 in tax and $130 brokerage when it crossed the border.
Go Big Tactical in BC has a couple r700 rokstoks and a tikka sendero contour in stock and the price ends up nearly identical once my c.o.d charges were paid. May be a good option for some guys since these end up at around $1000 Canadian pesos either way you order.
Can't wait to get it out shooting tomorrow it feels great.
Bummer man. Whatever happened to NAFTA?Got my stock super happy!

UPS is brutal. Was that their only shipping option? I was going to buy a Stocky VG for my Tikka last week and they said UPS was their only shipping option, no USPS. Having been burnt by UPS brokering fees before, it is a deal breaker for now.Yup the Canadian side of importing things is never great between the currency conversion and taxes/ duty at the border, but after handling the stock I'm pretty sure it's going to be well worth it. Still 200+ cheaper than mcmillan and over 500 less than manners once they are landed in BC
Good point. You can't get around taxes but if it's made in the US, which it is, you shouldn't be charged duties or should be able to get reimbursed. The kick in the nuts for us is UPS outrageous brokering fees.Bummer man. Whatever happened to NAFTA?
