Rokstok Lite

It does reduce muzzle rise better to an extent. That is somewhat offset by the lower CG of the forend. But, in rifles that recoil more than 6.5cm/308 or so- the original RS does control them better. Both due to design and weight.

With all of that, the RS lite is still better than any other design out there in the same weight range. For my personal uses- short, suppressed, modest recoiling rounds; I generally prefer the RS lite.

Any comment on the "hybrid"? Anything special about it or is it just a compromise between the standard and the lite?

Sounds like I need a Lite for my 223 and original for my 243

Nice. The stocks will be swappable back and forth, right (Tikka SA)? No need for bedding?

Correct. I’m eventually going to pay for Mike’s kids to go to school, by getting two more, but the ones I have ordered are a lite for my .223, a regular for the .243, and a heavy (no wood removed) for my M695 9.3x62 (that one won’t be swappable).

And one last probably dolumb question that's been answered as I'd planned on ordering a lite when it opens this week.

I'm 5'9", normal proportions for neck length, arm length etc. Is it recommended I go with the LOP kit from the get go instead of standard 13.5"? Maybe I should go with 14-14.25"? Or does it not really make that much difference?

Yes. Get the spacer kit. You will shoot best between 14” and 14.5” LOP.

I know this sounds silly, but could he get the 13.5” and use a larger recoil pad (1”) to make up the difference? Or is adding thicker recoil pads a no no when it comes to better recoil control? Asking as truly trying to understand physics here/length of pull

If trying to “add an inch”, is it better to do spacers and a 1/2” pad, or no spacers and a 1” pad?

Have you ever shot a peak 44 stock? Once available I’m seriously considering a RS lite for a Bat Vesper Rifle. I don’t want to add any more weight but hoping the slight geometry differences would help with muzzle rise a little more. Just curious how you’d rank the two side by side.

Yes, that’s my preferred way. A grind to fit Pachmyer.

Yes. A lot.

They are not in the same league. The Peak 44 stocks- both, are better somewhat in geometry than the factory stock with VG grip, but performance in shooting isn’t all that different than any other stock. Quite different than either ROKStok.
