Oh quite your whining you guys. It's only 5 miles and 2800' of elevation gain. I was planning to take beer, steak, and the kitchen sink just to make sure I'm getting my exercise. I tell you what. You guys just stack up all that nice new expensive gear and I'll make sure it get's to the top of the hill for you.

Here's my packing preference for those wanting to lower the weight:

1. Spotting Scopes
2. Bino's
3. 900 fill down quilts
5. good beer
6. crab legs
7..... hmmm I'll get back to you on that one

Don't you worry about me big boy. ;) This is a cake walk of a hike. I'll be taking a good 15-20 lbs. of unnecessary items. I need to get some exercise and a 50 lb. minimum pack is in order. I'm going to try to post my entire gear list here soon and if someone wants to see something in person, I'll take it.

I am planning on taking my Yukon raingear if anyone would like to see it. Other items that guys may be interest in seeing (maybe) are my Kifaru pack, Megatarp, TiGoat bivy, BA Q-core SL, Zebralight headlamps, etc.

Here's what I'll be bringing:

SO Draft Dodger 20* Quilt
BA Q-core SL
Borah M90 sidezip Bivy
SO Little Bugout
Vortex Viper HD 65mm spotter with Rocketfish tripod
Vortex Razor HD 12x50 binos
Firstlite Puffy (can bring rain gear if needed)
Either my 280 ackley improved or my 300 Norma Mag with 6-24x50 Vortex Viper PST FFP scope.
Platy 3L big Zip + 6L Drom bag for camp water

Also I've been up to this area before and there is a good place to get water about 2/3 the way up there so I think you should be good hiking in with 1-2L of water depending on how much you drink.

One other thing to mention is BRING EARPLUGS!!!! I'll try to have some extra in the pack but if we're going to be shooting, you definitely don't want to be next to me when the gun goes off... :)

Hey Mike, is there going to be enough tent space for 13? Technically, we aren't suppose to have a group larger then 8 without a special permit. If we end up going in at different times and have the tents at least divided in two, we should be fine. Plus, there's always a few last minute cancellations.

There is 3-4 different camp sites with room for 1-3 tents/tarps a piece in each if I remember correctly (I'm sure there could be more we didn't make it all the way around the lake. I think we'll be spread out enough that it shouldn't be a huge deal. Hopefully we have enough people carpooling where we only have 5-6 vehicles instead of 10+...
