Rifle scopes you'd love to see Form test

@sndmn11 Most of that was directed at Form, but basically there’s a guy on SH who goes by westernhntr. He’s got several posts in several threads bashing the slide, and made a thread about the LHT test over there. Lot of vortex fanboys got their feelings hurt.

I appreciate you taking the time/risk of testing equipment and sharing your results. I’m sure you’ll be accused of shilling before long, as well.

Don't forget the @lukemoffat ladder test thread, not sure why that one got deleted but it was an encyclopedia of real-world experience with scopes and their reliable/unreliable tracking...@form is great but I still haven't seen as much first-hand data that that thread had in it. Probably a bit outdated by now but was eye-opening nonetheless.

Luke deleted that thread. You would have to ask him why he did it.

I'm pretty sure I banned that guy.. he just can't get enough of the slide.

Should have that LHT back soon so Form can drop it again.

Pretty soon I'm sure form will be accused of being a Russian asset paid to fake test results.

The Bushnell is no longer made, however is one of the scopes commonly suggested by a lot of people, and they are still available.
Great! As many of us still have these, and there's something of an "underground collectors' club" grabbing them when they come up.

However, I think a lot of the mentions were for the new LRHS / gen 2, sold only by GAP ... would be interesting to see if the QC issues you saw in the latter days of the LRTS/LRHS were present in this one or not.

Email or call the manufacturers who interest you and have them watch one of those videos. Then ask them what their thoughts are, which scopes of theirs will pass, and what their position would be on damage from such testing or repair/replace/refund on zero loss.

Might gain oodles of insight.
And might help bring about the changes in the industry that Ryan, Form, I, and many others here think we might be able to effect ...

And, to be honest, while I don't expect most will, even if just one more company starts making scopes with reliable functionality, that would be significant, as well as give us a lot more options proportionately to what we have today.

There’s a 2.5-10 ffp on snipershide for $850. Or there was a few hours ago…

Fat chance any manufacturer recognizes the validity of these tests at all. Unfortunately. Manufacturers listen to sales and dealers who facilitate sales. They still don’t care about hunters on the internet.

He's still around under a different handle. Distaste for Form aside, he posts some good info occasionally.

@Ucsdryder sent me over a screenshot of some people on a different forum saying that Vortex's evaluation of the Vortex LHT was that the scope was fine and the rifle/rings were broke.

I am losing faith in my fellow sportsmen that the idea of a scope losing zero can be tested and predicted by a stressless bench tracking test.

Interesting. @Ryan Avery is that what you were told…?

Amazing that a NF scope works so well with broken rings 🤣

Ryan has uninterrupted video of the NF holding zero through the 36” drops as well as the Maven losing zero from each 18” drop, and the Trijicon holding zero through the entire drop eval in the exact same rings that were never removed from the rifle. I’m happy to do the same for the Vortex when it comes back.
