What does Tract say about testing like this, and the value it might bring?
I have no idea. Was just guessing. They just seem like a company that cares enough about consumer impression to care and are small enough to actually do something about it. I could be wrong, hope I'm not.

Got it thanks, can you expound on what exactly?

First, I have not put one through the full eval as presented here. My use and experience has been in general use. What I have seen is random, unexplained zero shifts/loss of zero of .2-.4 mils, loss of zero from impacts, parallax issues, and some tracking/adjustment and RTZ issues.

I know of one that had to go back for repair too ... it got sold as soon as it was refurbed.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but the eotech vudu is another optic I’m very curious about as far as reliability, don’t hear anything about them but look pretty dang good on paper besides being a little heavy… some weight is worth carrying, if it was a reliable scope, I wouldn’t care about the weight

I have a feeling the next glass I buy will be an NXS, but options are good

Not sure if it's been mentioned ,but I'd like to see the Burris XTR 3 evaluation!
Especially on usability of the reticle for hunting on low power.

The SCR2 on my XTR3 3.3-18 is the thinnest reticle I've used by a decent margin. I could not recommend it for hunting at low power, at ALL. I actually find myself turning the power up to max all the time to better see it, which I don't do on pretty much any other optic I've used.

Left out overnight in low single digits with snow falling. 9°F when I started this morning.

The Swarovski X5 and Minox ZP5 are on rifles and they were in the truck. Still 9° on them.

From the top of the image down, checking for power ring and parallax smoothness, turret feel, and anything else effected by the cold.

1). Burris Veracity 2-10x42mm: No effect

2). Sightron STAC 3-16x42mm: Stiffer mag ring

3). Sightron Siii 6-24x50mm: Stiffer mag ring

3). Trijicon 2.5-15x42mm Credo HX: Parallax a bit stiffer

5). Trijicon 3-18x44mm Tenmile: No effect

6). SWFA SS 3-15x42mm FFP: Maybe very slightly mushier elevation turret

7). Leupold MK5 3.6-18x44mm: No effect

8). Vortex Razor HD LHT 4.5-22x50mm: Extremly tight mag ring. Almost not able to turn. Bad enough that if using hunting I would set it at 7-8x and leave it- no way to quickly adjust it on an animal. Elevation turret extremely soft and mushy.

9). Vortex Viper PST Gen 1 2.5-10x32mm: Mag ring very stiff- almost unusable. Stiff parallax.

10). Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12x44mm LRTS: No effect.

11). NF 4-16x42mm ATACR: No effect.

12). NF 4-32x50mm NX8: No effect.

13). NF 3.5-15x50mm F1: No effect.

14). Meopta Optika 6 3-18x50mm: No effect.

15). Swarovski X5 5-25x56mm: Stiff power ring.

16). Minox ZP5 5-25x56mm: No effect.

This drop testing is one of the best things this site has ever done. Kudos to all involved.

Nearly brings a tear to my eye thinking of the great failures to come from this. And hopefully, some pleasant surprises.
I had a similar response.

Perhaps this thread will restore my faith in humanity. Or at least the possibilities of the internet.
