I have a Ruger Hawkeye African in 30.06 that I’d love to sell. Ergonomics are excellent and it’s a pretty cool rifle.

Everyone in my family grew up shooting and learning on a sporterized Mauser chambered in 6.5x55 mm Swede. Still my favorite rifle to date as its a great round and with great results especially from Nosler 140gr accubonds.

I'll second the 45-70 and add the 444marlin to the mix with a side of 35 whelan and for dessert a helping of 38-55

I still dont know what I want. I have several rounds from 30-06 down. Been shooting the 6.5 creedmoor. Looking for something bigger. That has good range. 600 plus yards. Shoot with an old cowboy guy that has some cool stuff that knocks elk down further away then people say it can. All home load stuff.

Gonna look into the 444marlin. Dont know much about it.

Theres a couple other mentioned I'm gonna check out as well that were mentioned. Thanks for the directions.

Not an old school round at all, but I'm into the 7mm-08 round. I like shooting it and it seems pretty darn versatile... Maybe we'll be talking about it more in a few decades...

I am also very partial to 257wby mag. Don’t even know why lol. Maybe I just love the way it sounds. I just got one and I’ve only put one round through it so don’t have much to go on but it sure puts the numbers up there.

Wont really fit what you are looking for but I have always thought the 30-40 Krag was a cool round. Mostly just cause I think the name sounds cool. No idea why.
