Rifle holder Pack attachemnt

I use the Slik Sling. It works but I don't love it. Mine constantly comes loose. The butt stock cradle loosens and slowly slips down, somehow. And the strap around the rifle has done that too. I now put a safety pin through the webbing to hold it all in place.
Do you put the safety pin through the rifle butt straps or on top? I am dealing with the same thing. I do like it but I am not in love lol

Just through the butt stock straps and my packs waist strap. That way it's locked in place.

Have been using the Creative Outdoors Slik Sling has been a great rifle holder for the last couple years. Would recommend to anyone looking for backpack rifle holder.

The Kifaru gun bearer is a great system that allows you to keep your hands free, and is easy to put the rifle back in while on the go. It also works pretty well while riding a motorcycle.

I just bought the Creative Outdoors Slik Sling V3 based off of everyone’s recommendations. I hope it works for me. I’ve been using the SG rifle sling for years on my SG Sky Talus 6900 and have had issues like everyone else with it coming loose. I’ve had to tie off the quick release to prevent my rifle from coming loose and smacking the ground.

I really like the kifaru gun bearer.

I've actually used it for a bow has well, and was able to ride a bike with the bow in the gum bearer with no issues.

I have the Stone Glacier thing. I don't like it. The cradle around the butt stock is to "catchy' and hangs up and the release pull-strap is too short and I can't find it when I need it. That Slik Sling seems like it addresses both those issues.

My favorite thing about my Stone Glacier pack is that the frame has 2 prongs, like a Y that extend up to the load lifters. I just sling my rifle sling over top of the pack (think center of lid) and the fram holds it there. It's basically like slinging it over your shoulder, but the weight is on your pack and the frame keeps it from sliding off.

Buckling the chest strap around the outside of your rifle sling also gives a little more assurance that your rifle isn't going anywhere.

Used the stone glacier one as mentioned for a long time but came to the conclusion everyone else did which is that it doesn’t stay fully secure and can be annoying as it flops around. I started then just strapping my rifle to the side of the pack and accepting it was slower to draw which is rarely an issue. Sometimes I do want a sling though and picked up a little shoulder strap retainer(sorry forgot the masks but was a small business in MT, it’s just a tiny little metal clip) that does a great job of keeping the sling on your shoulder but still find the stock of the rifle wants to rotate forward. At one time in the past I had a little thing that had a rearward facing hook which mounted to my backpack waist belt which held the stock back. If I had that again and the shoulder strap retainer I feel it would do really well and then can always just go back to strapping the rifle to the pack when I want it really secure. I do continue to use the SG rifle sling bottom piece as I like how it hold the rifle and allows we to run the rifle lower and out of the way of overhead branches.

Does anyone know of a product like I described which goes on backpack waistband as a rearward facing hook? It has like wire internal piece and was covered in some sort of fabric.

I believe that was a product made by Gunslinger Corral. I don't know if they are still in business but my brother uses one and it works pretty good. I think it would be fairly easy to duplicate with off the shelf items.
