Vivo forest tracker esc durability

This pair got delivered March 10th and I’ve been wearing em daily since. Only minor issues that have popped up are a loose stitch and a little delamination where the crease is.
Overall super comfortable and they don’t have a weird heal slip I get from Lems.

I'm onto my second pair of ebay Tracker Leather AT. I don't see any issues beyond normal wear. If they are fake they are very purposeful about it as all packaging and appearance is legit. Maybe they are just bootleg distribution, off the back dock of the factory or something like that. I got ~600 miles (100days) out of the sole which is in line with any of various medium tier work boots I've used, and also belleville minimalists, which I've gone through many pairs of. Mostly rocky ish desert terrain with some urban concrete/asphalt. I rarely have wear issues with boot uppers, but usually right around 600 miles seems to be it for any sole. I'd be interested in trying to resole these as they fit extremely comfortable. I tried Jim Greens and they just didn't work for my feet or walking style or whatever.

There's still a little bit of life in these but after that many miles the remaining sole also becomes super soft and flexible and I start feeling strain in my forefoot or arch doing daily work miles. I go to a new pair and the issues resolve for a while. this has been my experience daily wearing barefoot boots for the last couple of years at ~6miles a day according to iphone. Also I added a basically flat foam insole to absorb some of the impact stress without altering the zero drop properties much at all. I've used wool felt insoles for a while and they compress very fast and then provide no cushioning at all. so far so good on the foam hopefully it'll last a while.

Vivo has a 50% discount until May 4th, using VIVO50.
At that price, I'll try a pair.

No half sizes.
I tried their sizer widget and it said my 8-1/2 W Altras equate to a 7, which seemed off. I measured my longer foot and got an 8 -- off we go.

Not related to durability (though I can say that my Tracker AT have hundreds of miles on them and my wife's many many more, as she wears them virtually every day outside of summer, and they both look great still), but is sizing on the esc off?

I do have short feet but usually US 8 / EU 41 fits well.

My forest tracker AT are 41 and perfect. My magna trail flow or whatever their name was likewise.

The esc 41s arrived today and they are a good half inch longer and thus dont fit. Did I get a lemon /mislabeled one or do they run a size larger?

Using their size guide - where you print it out and trace *both* of your feet, and round to the next size up from the larger of your feet is the way to go.

Just ignore all the comparative sizing numbers - use their tool and their sizes and you should be right.

They seem to have gotten rid of the print option and replaced with a phone 3D scan. It was "close" on my feet, recommending the same size I came up with using the printed version a while ago. I have the Primus Lite that I've been slowly training into, and they're just a hair snug with a full cushion hunter sock from Darn Tough - width and length are fine still, but I start feeling the pressure on the roof of my foot. I was planning on running the Tracker ESC with a yakwool or the Vivo thermal liner, plus a sealskin over the DT sock depending on weather... The Primus Lite are snug with the DT without any doing any of the laces up.

The question: Would going up 1 size give me any more room for the arch of my foot to fit these?

I'm going to try my first pair of Vivos. They'll be used hard for hiking around Colorado this summer and fall. I see everyone talking about the tracker forest ESCs. But what about the Tracker Textile AT IIs? They say they're waterproof, and I'd prefer a waterproof boot. How do the 2 compare?

I can't remember anyone in this thread getting them, or getting them and being in love. I asked about them over the winter.

100 free days, grab them and try. I was going to buy some, but my size is out.

Couldn't believe that code worked - I think that's the highest we've seen. Another pair of Tracker ESCs incoming.

And for all: don't forget to post links to Vivo discounts in the The VIVO Barefoot discount code thread: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads...scount-code-thread.356043/page-3#post-4621933

@Var: how did you come to know about this code? I don't think it was in their newsletter ...
My wife and I both received emails early Saturday morning. I have read the reviews on here for the Forest ESC and Tundra ESC, but have a hard time justifying the retail price. With the discount I figured it was worth trying out. I would have popped it into that discount thread, but I couldn't post there.

Might have to buy something at 50% off!

I used an LP type treatment on my boots, Bickmore LP?

They did good for a while but the couple inches of sleet/hail eventually got through!

Maybe try Renapur?

As for size I’m a 9.5 in everything, but I just couldn’t see a 9 working so I went 10, the Forest tracker seem bigger than the Magna slightly but it’s been a non issue, and in almost two years my feet have not gotten bigger!

Just takes some getting used to the loose feeling of the boots.

Any treatment you use is eventually going to end up wearing down. For waterproof in these boots I carry a pair of seal skins waterproof socks. People saying their feet stay dry in these through sustained off trail due to a treatment should be taken with a grain of salt. It’s not a mesh shoe either, they do decent.

My preferred treatment is nikwax spray, followed by a coat of their paste. Renapur works well too but I feel nikwax retains more breath ability than most of the other paste style treatments.

The textiles are uber lightweight, None are heavy compared to most boots on the market but the difference from leather to textile is noticeable, and the ESC are slightly heavier than the leather AT but it’s less noticeable.
The tread on the ESC is better for the woods unless you’re on well established trails, and dry. Soft ground, leaf litter, mud, etc and the more aggressive tread of the ESC performs much better. I rarely have soft ground or mud but if I do the tread of the AT’s clogs very easily and is lacking. The AT does well on dry rocks, can’t speak to wet rocks.
