Revic BLR10b Rangefinding Binoculars

Without trying to sound all douchey, I’m 100% confident I would see more deer (DEER specifically, elk are easy as **** to see) with a pair of 10 NL’s than a pair of 10 BLR’s.

No douchiness detected…I heard the same thing from another person in regards to the revics.

Just like Mike D, I think if I decide to go ranging binos it might have to be the leica.

If glass is priority but still a great calculator and ranging ability, I have to imagine the Leica will be excellent. I probably won’t fork up the cash to test the new one. But even they’re older ones were great at ranging and the image was great as well.

I’m not sure how intuitive it is with the wind inputs and what not. I wouldn’t like to have to have my phone paired in order to use that function. That would be the only downside to them I can see. I’ve just really become accustomed to putting the wind in directly with the buttons on the rangefinder manually now.

No doubt the wind vectoring is a nice feature and another reason I was considering the Sig in lieu of the Revics. But the glass quality keeps me second guessing.

The Vectronix also has wind adjustments just not sure how intuitive it is.

Another method that can be used for wind calls is knowing what your rifles wind value is and adjusting in your head from there. Realistically until you get way out there or have a ridiculous amount of wind, you can miss a wind call by a fair margin and still hit vitals especially if using a higher velocity/high BC combo.

Only had the kilo 10k gen2 for a little but the glass seems to be on par with my Nikon monarch HG 10x42s. Left em outside overnight last night and they ranged great this morning when it was -1 which is about 40 degrees colder than 2 pairs of leica Hd-b worked for me. I definitely prefer putting my 12x50 swaro ELs on a tripod though.

Maybe I got a good pair, or maybe I just haven’t spent a lot of time behind alpha glass. Not saying the glass is the greatest, but certainly more than adequate for my purposes and the increased speed in spot/range/shoot time is a big deal to me. Nit picking terrain apart there are better options, that’s where I’d want bigger glass anyway.

And that is exactly how I describe them and recommend them as well. They are a great standalone bino for the majority of hunters and hunting styles. But for a fair amount of hunters, they’ll feel/see the drawbacks with how/what they hunt.

Absolutely right about that! The wind inputs aren’t an end all be all by any means. Just something I’ve become accustomed to and enjoy having.

Wouldn’t be a very big deal to not have them. Hell more than half the time at mid range and closer I just hold on the windy side of the vitals and send it. Don’t even get a reading or input any wind.

I just killed a buck at 460 yards. 15 MPH variable head wind. I didn't even input wind. Just centered up on the vitals and knew it’d land in there somewhere.

Everyone's use case is different. For mine, I bought the RF binos primarily for the range finding and ballistic solving, which Revic does the best. They are combined into a 10x bino, which I use for quick looks while hand holding. In that case I don't feel alpha glass is going to make much of a difference. I carry 15x binos that go onto a tripod as soon as I sit down. So for me, Revics fit the best. If I was putting them on a tripod and glassing for long amounts of time I may feel differently. But either there are variations of glass quality or my eyes are different because when comparing them directly with my buddies pre TA el range, the only difference I could see in glass WHILE HAND HOLDING was a bigger color variation between eyes on the Revic, which I could only see by closing one eye. Probably a bigger difference on a tripod.

I don't regret paying 2500 for mine so I certainly would jump all over the current price.

I use them a ton more than just big game hunting as well. They are great for a lot of different hunts and every range trip. They are awesome for coyotes and pigs because they're hard to range and constantly moving. Hell I shoot long range squirrels with them too lol.

They're great for most things hunting and shooting related.

My main reason for wanting RF binos is NRL hunter style matches, need a quick readout. Sig told me this morning minimum IPD on the Gen 2’s is 58mm. I had a buddy measure his Vectors this morning at 57.33. If the Revics don’t work for me I may try Leicas since they go to 56.

After putting some time behind the new sigs they work for me! They go slightly tighter than the revics but it was just enough to make work for me. The RF and glass seems comparable, menu is way easier to navigate on the sigs. Battery life blows as i burned through a battery in a weeks time.
